We remove the old worn out front suspension in our 1969 Chevy Nova sleeper car project nicknamed the "Narcolepsy Nova". We prepare the cars subframe for the new QA1 front suspension components and Wilwood disc brakes by prepping and painting the subframe with some VHT chassis paint.

Great idea with the control arm bushing spreader tool, definitely saving that in my brain for future use lol I would’ve just beat it with a hammer or shaved down the bushing!

Glad you liked it! The whole reason I started my channel was to help others building there car by providing tips and saving them from some of the mistakes I make on my projects.

That lower control arm bolt either came loose and chewed up the hole, or the bushing went bad and the arm moved around a bunch and damaged the hole.

That’s along the lines of what I was thinking. First time ever seeing it though. Especially as violent as this one was.

I did the same thing last summer. But mine is all apart. I have the subframe stored with all of it wire wheeled, cleaned, primed and painted. Ready to go back in with new solid subframe bushings next spring.

Damn I’m super jealous! It would have been soooo much easier to get this done had the frame not been attached to the car. Good news is the subframe for the blue car should be a breeze!

@@hatchsrecreationalengineer1997 yeah they are super easy to take out too. I am going to be using Global West Solid Body Mount/bushings. They were )$150 for all the mounts and hardware. I liked the idea of the solid vs. rubber or poly.

@@hatchsrecreationalengineer1997 I just flipped the subframe up beside a shade tree I have and disassembled it and cleaned it up.

I bought a new rubber body mount kit for the green car to install while doing the engine/trans swap but my father has been trying to talk me into the solid mounts since we are gonna try to make some power out of the green car. Also I plan on running solid motor mounts.

I know I know. I have gotten much better at using/wearing PPE since this video. In more recent videos you will find that I use safety gear when cutting/grinding/wire wheeling
