Totally with you on Ken Booth. I’ve loved his voice ever since I heard Everything I Own on the radio as a kid. Those reggae 7’s are real find and in those great 70s cardboard sleeves from (I think) Boots. Definitely worth your while getting up early that morning! Cheers John.

I absolutely hate those sleeves, hideous looking things but beauty is in the eye of the beholder😂

Great pick-ups John, blows my recent boot finds out of the water! Bags of reggae 45s is the sort of thing you dream of (or is it just me who dreams of what might be at the car boots...) Hopefully I'll get round to showing some of the stuff I've found soon, cheers Dale

Wave Length was the last Van Morrison album that I bought. It was okay and it is long gone. Candy is a cool soundtrack. Hatful Of Hallow is a great album. 60 Reggae singles is a huge haul.

Hi Richie. Hatful Of Hollow has been on deck alot over the past couple of weeks. Hadn’t spun it in ages. It’s cool when you rediscover records 👌

Good stuff John. That Moog Indigo record sounds fab. I agree that Page's guitar solos are messy (though I like them that way!) and I've often wondered if that was deliberate. He was clearly very accomplished so I'm inclined to think so.
@6inchpianist3 күн бұрын
Hi James. You have a point. Page was a great guitarist. The sloppiness of some of his solos must’ve been by design. It’s something that’s always bugged me though.
@jamesgriffithsmusic3 күн бұрын
@@6inchpianist In a way he was a bit punk! Another thing about his playing is that because it's messy it's quite easy for aspiring young 'shredders' to imitate him, which in turn casts a bit of a pall over that style in general. I always thought Ritchie Blackmore was a sort of 'tidied-up' version of Page.

I was pleased to see you holding up "Strutter" John. Boy. Tim Booth is one of my faves from the late 80's and 90's. Two of my all time favorite bands in the same Car Boot Sale. You cannot go wrong with Hollow and Graffiti. Its funny how serious people get when anyone talks about Zeppelin in a not so positive way. {smile} I never took it personal when someone said anything negative about the Blimp, The Smiths or even the Beach Boys. I laughed at some of the comments below. Especially BruceVinyl3504. I got to see Zeppelin three times in 1977. Jimmy's performances were not always on the money. But when he was on he was unbeatable. All three of the NY shows were great. One of the things that I remember most about the shows was the overall sound. I sat way up in the greens for the first night. Lower arena the second night and twenty rows from the stage for the third night. They were incredibly loud but the sound was impeccably clear. No matter where we sat we could hear each one of them perfectly. Including Robert's vocals. Their PA system was one of the best in the business. I hope that they start to have some Car Boot Sales over here. Enjoy Graffiti, Hollow & Strutter. Three excellent albums~ Rob/Boston

Enjoying your videos John. Nice pick-ups. I'm not a fan of Led Zeppelin. They've never done it for me. I recognised the song you did a needle drop from the moog LP. I think it was used in an advert in the 90s for something (for orange juice? not so sure) but not the version you played. Some great bargains on the Reggae singles. Cheers.

Nice picks John. When Jimmy Page is being economical with his playing his solos can be sublime..Ten Years Gone on that album is a classic example. Candy soundtrack sounds great..definitely my thing. Some great reggae 45s..bargain.

Hi John. I've got the Moog one. So do you recognise the samples or Google them? I wish I could get up for car boots. I'm not sure what puts me off of them. Maybe too disorganised for my liking. I've a Derrick Morgan album with a gospel choir I'll have to PM you a clip it is absolutely awesome.

Love the Reggae 7' singles ! In The Light is my favourite Zeppelin track . I think both In Through The Outdoor & Presence are mediocre albums & Zep were probably done one way or the other.
@6inchpianist2 күн бұрын
Hi David. Presence and in Through The Outdoor have their moments but the band were pretty much done by then, as you say. I’ve always had a soft spot for Robert’s vocals though. There some great photos of him playing football in his Wolves shirt and underpants in the mid-70’s, still giving it his rock star swagger 😀

Zeppelin… Beatles… Smiths… do you not value sleep, John?! Page a much better composer than soloist. Completely agree. The older I get, the less I need Zeppelin in my life. 60 reggae 45s! That’s all? 👀 Cheers! ✌🏻

I’m the opposite. I can’t stand Robert plant’s vocals, but like Jimmy Page’s guitar. I was watching the last Brum Reseelar vid...ne hit a rich seam of classic rock at the car boot, but the bloke selling made it tricky as they weren’t priced so he was randomly calling out prices. It was interesting. I’ve got EVA on 12”. It’s on the flip of the Fatboy Slim remix. ‘Just To Get A Rep’ is an absolute classic by Gangstarr.
@6inchpianist6 күн бұрын
Hi Harris. I saw Brum Resellers video. He got some good stuff. I was at the same car boot. I had a bunch of stuff, including the copy of Hatfull Of Hollow, for between 2 and 4 quid. I’ll show some of the other bits in another video. John got a couple of nice AC/DC albums in that classic rock pile that’re worth a few quid. I like watching his videos because I get to see the stuff that I missed out on! I don’t know that Fatboy remix 12”. I’ll look that up. Cheers!
