I was able to get the D-Day game out and play a game with a group of friends.

Fistful of TOWS 3 one of my favorite miniatures rules and play a lot of Cold War Action set during the 1970’s and 80’s here in Northern Virginia.

I used to live in northern va. Gamed at little wars just before it closed. But that almost 20 years ago now.

@@Aaronfromprojectwargaming wow, I also gamed there, started at Wargamers hobby store in Sterling (closed) but then a lot of time at Game Parlor (closed) and now we have Huzzah hobbies in Ashburn. 4 local stores over 30 years so not bad as hobby stores seem not to last long so pretty lucky here in NVA.

Stunning table. Looks like the game was really well constructed too.

Awesome! Nothing like big, multi player games using 6mm for that epic scale. Glad to see you enjoying the fruits of your Labour.

Absolutely beautiful table. I wish I had the storage space to do set piece boards - it’s so much more immersive than playing on a mat with terrain pieces thrown on it! I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about Fistful of Tows - must give that ruleset a closer look. Have you seen the videos about the upcoming O-Group rules by Dave Brown?
@Aaronfromprojectwargaming3 жыл бұрын
I've seen a bit on O group. It looks interesting.

@@Aaronfromprojectwargaming Good video. Its nearly as well-edited as a video on Little Wars TV (a great wargaming channel). I would suggest however the sound/voice quality could be improved upon.

Fantastic content. My grou p has started exploring 6mm WWII using the Battlegroup rules. I would love to see some content from you on how you do terrain in 6mm as well as marking in 6mm. How do you ID units, track casualties, etc.

Great questions
@Aaronfromprojectwargaming3 жыл бұрын
I think I have a number of videos on 6mm terrain scattered between the wwii and civil war playlist. I factually have one specific video on markings for wwii stuff but I must I admit don't really use that system anymore.
@Aaronfromprojectwargaming3 жыл бұрын
Tracking casualties in Fistful of Tows is pretty simple. Typically if they pass the quality check they are spressed and marked with a white or yellow bead. If they fail they are removed.

I've recently been pondering what size of land does this represent in "real life" as I contemplate making a table of my own. 6mm = roughly 1:285 so would the length of table equate to just unde 700m then?
@Aaronfromprojectwargaming2 жыл бұрын
Oh no. Each stand represents a company of men or 5 tanks. I don't really have a scale that I was working exactly. Maybe a couple of miles of beach. A mix of looks and playability

"The butcher of Normandy", Elite Nazi machine gunner who claimed to have fired 10,000+ rounds in the first minute when the American landing craft ramps droped. His position was a hold-out, that completely dominated the entire beach and was one of the last positions taken by the marines.
