Lauren, thank you so much for showing this package, and for covering the lesson components (Enrichment, etc.). We plan to use this next year. I was very curious about it. So glad that you are back!!!

I'm so glad it was helpful! It is definitely one of my favorite MP Literature years. (But I do love them all, to be honest! Well, maybe except for Paddington in 4th grade. That's the only one I've ever been ho hum about that I can recall.) I have lots of curriculum on my shelf, so let me know if there is something you'd like to see and I'll move it up in the queue. :) Thanks for your comment! xo, Lauren

Thanks for your comment, Carol! If you want to see anything specific for future grades, let me know and I'll be happy to do a flip through of it - assuming I have it, of course! -Lauren

@@MamaLaurenHill I am interested in most Memoria Press subjects. There is little information about specific topics like beginning Greek, literature guides, and grammar stage studies. That would be helpful for me.

Hey Ginger! I'm still struggling to get my You Tube groove back since I took such a l-o-n-g break from it over Christmas. I have a million ideas, just no time to record a video. Hopefully I can squeeze one in the next week or so. If you have something specific you'd like to see, feel free to let me know. If I have it, I'll push it to the front of the queue! I've used lots of BJU, Memoria Press, Rod and Staff, and many years ago I used Tapestry of Grace, Story of the World, Math Mammoth, on and on... xo, Lauren

Great overview! My student read Robin Hood and Door in the Wall in 4th grade (CM curriculum). If we were to transition to MP, would you say we could choose other books/lit guides or are they essential to the year they are in?

Hello! I am FINALLY answering this question 7 MONTHS LATE! That's awful and please accept my apologies. I am sure you have already figured out the answer to your own situation, but I thought I'd leave a reply for anyone stopping by later. 6th Grade Literature in Memoria Press is the best one to keep as-is simply because it coincides with the history of that year which is the Middle Ages. It dovetails beautifully. However, the books and their Student Workbooks are written as stand-alone guides, so you can certainly mix and match as needed. For example, my #4 child is doing 8th Grade Lit this year, and we aren't huge fans of The Wind and the Willows, so I switched it out for Little Women. I will say, you might want to see how the book is paced (how many weeks are allotted), and then choose another selection that is close in time to complete. Best wishes! xo, Lauren

I think I need the guide for The Door in the Wall. 😂😂 We were reading it until we got about half way through. Neither of us had any idea what was going on. My daughter asked if we could stop and I said “Yes!” I have never stopped reading a book. 🤦🏻‍♀️ We were just not in to it. 😳 Are there other assigned readers that just don’t have studies? I’m used to Sonlight where they’re always assigned a reader.

Oh I absolutely needed the guide for The Door in the Wall!! I just didn't get it the first time around. 🤷‍♀️ I'm not exactly a well-read person, so I thought it was just me! As for assigned readers, they do have a read-aloud assigned each week and I often assign that one. Also, there's an American Studies independent reader assigned. Those choices are excellent, in my opinion! There's no guide for those - just read.
