First clip is factory exhaust, straight piped. The second clip is diamond eye 5 inch exhaust including down pipe. Should have done a rev on the second clip.

Sounds pretty good, you can get those gear reduction starters from the parts store. They spin up that 7.3 quick. I burned up my stock starter in negative Temps a little while ago and spent the extra cash for a new manufacture one and I haven't regretted it one bit

Thanks for the heads up! I’m pretty sure these batteries are just getting weaker by the week, especially on the first start. I also read that you can use a starter out of a little newer Powerstroke, not sure how true that is .

@@sentencedtobeme3697 my 7.3’s battery’s kept draining and we couldn’t figure out what it was and we put a gear reduction starter in it and solved that problem and it cranks so much faster then the stock starter

@@ericwilson8144 gear reduction starter is the way to go on both of the IDI and 7.3 powerstroke. For your IDI engine you likely have 2-3 bad glow plugs. If it was mine I'd replace them all instead of one or two at a time. Bosch only or you'll have trouble pulling them out later.

I had a 94 7.3 and with 2 new batteries, new glow plugs it started like a champ. I also by passed my glow plug relay and put a push button switch for the glow plugs, the relays on the obs 7.3 were junk, even new ones.

I definitely need to get some new batteries. The ones I have arnt that old but I hardly drive the truck. Maybe once a month. And when I decide to buy batteries, they arnt gonna be cheap Walmart ones. I’ve seen a lot of people by pass the glow plus and the ignition and put push buttons on both!

@@sentencedtobeme3697 I'm in the UP of Michigan, our 2 weeks of summer then the few weeks of fall and then 8 months of winter lol, mine is my plow truck, I dont even bother to plug her in , just 4 cycles when its 0 or below and she fires everytime. Once it catches I give a sligjt rev to 2500ish and then it idles fine. I finally got a ts6 chip basically just for the high idle settimg so rhis winter should he nicer. Also just got a 1.0 turbo housing, wicked wheel 2, 3" downpipe and enuff 3.5" to delete miffler and cat. Also a CAI . shes only got 43k unmolested miles on her, was born with a plow on it, and less than 3000 miles since 06, figured its time to wake up the beast. Mines a 95

@@erik120719 Wow you only have 43xxx miles on it! Man… You can probably put that truck in a will, if the rust don’t get to her first. Not sure if Michigan lays down salt on the roads. My project will be injector’s and a T6 or Hydra. For now I don’t drive her much only to hall a vehicle here and there or wood. Bought some Archoil a few months back, would like to see how she starts on that. Previous owner neglected the truck bad. Ran off of used motor oil and used cooking oil for 16-17 years.

@@sentencedtobeme3697 rust will get mine first, already getting crusty. Bed is comimg off soon for a custom flatbed as soon as I can make some time. Here in the UP, LOTS of sand and salt mix, previous owner is 93 and only done basic maintenance, so its solid but like everything here the rust trying to take it out. My 09 silverado just got a new bed and I'll be doing rockers and cab corners soon, I work on 2020s that are rusted pretty good already, I swear ive seen rust on new vehicles still on the lot lol

@@erik120719 i believe you. I work near San Francisco Bay and these 2021 trucks at my job site have surface rust all over the frame and leaf springs. So I can only imagine the snow majority of the months out of the year.

Why do you wish you went with the 4 inch?
@SixOFord
@SixOFord 4 ай бұрын
@sentencedtobeme3697 I think the 4" has a more sharp, clean turbo sound to it. The 5" has a deeper but softer (to my ears) sound to it. More of a soft flutter. And it drones pretty bad in the 1700-2000 rpm range under load. I've had 4" on 7.3's in the past and never had that issue. I should have elaborated more on that in my original comment.

@@SixOFord I was thinking of doing the 4 inch before I pulled the trigger and just ordered the 5 inch. I’m probably going to change the turbo wheel in hopes I can hear it a little better.
@SixOFord
@SixOFord 4 ай бұрын
@sentencedtobeme3697 changing the compressor wheel will have no effect on the exhaust sound. You may hear a little more whistle in the cab from the turbo itself, but I doubt it. I did a wicked wheel in my first 7.3, turbo lasted a couple months after install. That's a balanced assembly the turns excessive rpm's. I'd just replace the whole turbo if I was you.
