Full Recipes & Cost Breakdown
Goulash/Chop Suey/Beefaroni
2 packages of beef patties (thawed) $2.50
1 bag of seasoning blend $1.25
1 can of diced tomatoes $1.25
1 can of pasta sauce $1.25
1 family sized box of macaroni and cheese $1.25
Total cost $7.50
Brown and crumble beef patties over medium high heat, drain and then if desired you can rinse them, this removes excess salt and seasoning in these preflavored patties.
Add beef back into a pot with the entire bag of seasoning blend. Sautee for 2 to 3 minutes until veggies soften up.
Add in diced tomatoes (with liquid), pasta sauce, and macaroni noodles (no cheese sauce yet). Add 3 to 4 cups of water or broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
At the end of cooking, stir in cheese sauce and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Bacon Chicken Alfredo Pizzas
English Muffins $1.25
Alfredo sauce $1.25
2 cans of chicken (well drained) $2.50
Bacon bits $1.25
Mozzarella cheese (buy the block and shred yourself) $1.25
Total cost $7.50
Shred mozzarella cheese. Mix alfredo sauce with drained chicken and 1 to 2 tablespoons of bacon bits. separate english muffins into halves and top each half with sauce and cheese. Add extra bacon bits on top if desired.
Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes and you can broil for a minute or two to brown up cheese.
Ham Chowder Pot Pie
1 package of cheddar garlic biscuit mix $1.25
2 cans of chicken a la king (or 1 can of condensed cream soup and 1 can of milk) $2.50
1 package of deli ham $1.25
1 can of diced potatoes $1.25
1 can of whole kernel corn $1.25
Mix biscuit mix with 3/4 cup of water. package calls for 1/2 cup but you want to make it thinner than it typically is.
Chop deli ham into bite sized pieces. Add soup into a baking dish along with drained corn, drained potatoes, and chopped ham.
season to taste with salt and pepper and top mixture with your prepared biscuit mix. bake at 375 for 30 minutes until biscuits are brown on top. allow to cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving

I'm gonna say using mac and cheese in the goulash is inspired! As well as using biscuit mix for the pot pie crust! The thing about these foods that is so cool to me also is its easy enough to let little kids help out with dinner. Those mini pizzas would be a fun family activity.

If you brush butter and garlic powder and a little salt on bread and put it in the toaster oven it will turn into garlic toast which is a great substitute for garlic bread. to step it up a notch use leftover hamburger or hotdog buns :) You can also use olive oil, margarine or any oil that has a low smoke point so it browns quickly.

These are actually so helpful. With the economy being what it is my small business isn’t doing so hot and prices at the grocery store just keep on rising. It’s hard to leave the grocery store without spending $100 and doing that twice a week for our small family is really difficult. I don’t really shop at the dollar tree much but I normally shop at aldi and apply a lot of your recipes there and it’s been super helpful in cutting back on costs.

Greetings. I made the goulash today. My loved one suggested your video and i can say it was really good and he and my family liked it as well 👍🏼 The suggested dollar tree items could well be the unsung heroes of quick and easy home cooking ingredients. It is also a nicely portioned, filling, and, cost friendly recipe. The main ingredients are pre-prepped which cuts down the meal prep time. Plus it can be expandable for times i usually cook for an army (aka large family 😊) . I wish you a great weekend and Happy Cooking 🍽 Sincerely, Your new subscriber 👍🏼

My hubby loves all German foods. That is a much cheaper way of making goulash. He will love it. The current cost of stew meat or chuck roast keeps me from making it. It cost $30 the last time I tried it. The roast was $27

Going to use spinach and imitation bacon bits in place of the chicken and pork bacon proteins. I love the Prego brand of Alfredo sauce they stock at Dollar Tree. Amazing video as always! That's a great idea for using mac and cheese. I love how you think outside the box even if I don't feel comfortable eating any of the meat products at dollar tree. Those mini pizzas look bangin', to be honest. You are so clever. I run a food ministry and totally going to try that biscuit caserol with the ham. That I would eat b/c the ham is what you'd get at a normal grocery store.

I just discovered your channel, and I'm so glad that I did!! New subscriber here. I've been looking for at home cooks that cook for 1 person (or 2) but haven't had much luck. It seems there's mainly cooking for families of 4 or more. So Thanks for giving me meal ideas on my small SSI budget. I don't have a nearby Dollar Tree, but I can easily get similar ingredients from Walmart or Giant Eagle. Now for this video (watching your playlist), I love the Mac n' Cheese goulash idea!! So gonna try it. I've done a variety of English Muffins mini pizzas since I was a latch-key kid in the 80's. I've done a similar Chicken Pot Pit Casserole only with Bisquick Biscuits & sprinkled cheese on top of them when they were almost done. 10 minutes before they are done pull them out of the oven (or toaster oven in my case) and sprinkle the tops with cheese, and put them back in until the cheese is melted & golden.

Sprinkle garlic powder over buttered sandwich bread and bake until toseted. You can Sprinkle cheese & oregano or Italian season over the top of it as well beforehand. I also Sprinkle a cinnamon/sugar blend over buttered sandwich bread and bake until toasted for breakfast. 350° until the crust is toasted. The way i tell if its done is if i can smell the seasoning. Then i touch the crust to see if its crunchy. A great way to use up stale bread if you dont need croutons or able to make French toast. Both are great out of a toaster too. Butter your toast as you do then Sprinkle a little spice on top. Cheese doesn't really work out on top when done this way. Make it in a skillet like an open faced grilled cheese if needed

there are some areas that D25T are the only local resource and with todays fuel prices driving 10miles to a real grocery could be a budget buster or the difference in making it to work or not... American goulash and its cousins American chop suey and chilimac/beefaroni, have been and still are staples at my house. no shame in using macNcheese noodles Ive always done it, sometimes I leave the cheese out and keep it for another dish. To get those all important veggies in I hide them from the kids and even myself by liquefying them and use them as part of the liquid. I do prefer mine less soup like but the liquid does help stretch the servings. garlic bread would be great but you still need the white bread to sop the juices and clean the bowl! English muffins are hit and miss at my local D25Ts but Walmart has their brand for $1.89. A couple weeks back my daughter in law mentioned french bread pizza and I suggested a chicken alfredo FBP, she ran with that and added spinach and tomato... it was SOOOOOO good! of course I did a short on it.. my go to is english muffin taco pizza using salsa and taco seasoned chicken with shredded cheese blend or a quick tuna melt with seasoned packaged tuna and american slices.. I guess Ive added another version to the rotation! My late wife loved chicken pot pies, I would make something like last dish except with a bisquick crust. I also made a lot of beef pot pies using canned beef stew and bisquick which was a variation of the beef pot pie we made in 10th grade home economics except we made real beef stew and a real crust
