If you bought high-priced CO2 laser like an xTool P2, you will be looking for ways for it to pay for itself. The good news is that, while the market is flooded for projects that any diode laser can make, there are far fewer products for sale that can only be made with a CO2 laser. In this video I will show you 7 different acrylic projects you can make and sell for some decent profit and pay off your xTool P2 much quicker than you expect.

A video on what you did with Marvin from bitmap to svg and separating the pieces would be great!

Noted! I’ve thought about doing this. I’ll probably make it with my own CO2 laser running on Lightburn, just to make it more generic.

So good. I love the acrylic stuff. So pretty. One day Mr Steve and I will start my laser journey. Man I have allot to learn, so I’m still soaking it all in.

Well, there's lots of help to get you up to speed when you finally pull that trigger. A CO2 laser is probably not the best place to start, but any laser will get you going.

Great projects Steve. But how do we deal with sharp edges of acrylic material after cutting in different smaller and complex shapes?

I don’t understand. There really any sharp edges.

Awsome setup - looks very good. - and great content - very much looking into getting the PS - i have the D1 pro 20 with the extention , enclosure and the IR laser. - but ... I would like to do the glass and clear acrylic more easy than with the diod. But I can buy the machine. but i don't have a platform to sell on - so guess i have to see one of your youtube on starting a business 🙂

My business is a bit different than many. While I do have an Etsy page, most of my revenue comes from custom work. You can do either or both though. If you do buy a P2, keep your D1Pro because you will want it for better engraving. Also if you are using XCS 2.0 you can run both lasers at the same time.

Love the mosaic, have you done a “how to” on that?
@SteveMakesEverything

I have done similar things with inlay. This type of design is even easier and the P2 did an amazing job of this.

Yep and normally I would pack everything tight. For this though it’s easier to see it cur as it would be laid out

@@SteveMakesEverything for sure I get the video presentation, comment was more for Joe public - stating obvious I guess. But if in production you’d maximize material as much as feasible. I did that with vinyl for sticker production I had 3mm gaps between stickers (any smaller would tear) and had 2’ long x4” wide down to 4” long by 0.8” stickers. It was nuts trying to maximize usage but took a long time to achieve as nesting only went so far. But if I won job I’d have maximized use of material and saved costs as. It was more about minimizing waste too. I guess if you were super keen you could put objects inside letter holes too. Side note usa lasers vs Chinese laser have you thoughts on what you have. Ie would you buy usa made over Chinese made of cost same or is the Chinese product better etc. I was looking at full spectrum laser for stuff but cost is higher. The non Chinese choice was more from a political standpoint of supporting local and then non Chinese countries because we rely on China too much for everything and one day there potential for war and sanctions will stifle everything more than covid did when they stuttered. So just curious on the lasers..

@@75keg75 Very few lasers are made outside of China, and even the ones assembled in the US are probably assembled from parts made in China. The short answer is that it probably doesn't matter where your laser was assembled.
