In this video, we're diving into the vibrant world of perennials that not only beautify your garden but also attract a plethora of pollinators. From bees and butterflies to hummingbirds, these seven stunning perennials are must-haves for any garden enthusiast looking to create a buzzing, blooming paradise.
Why plant perennials?
🌱 Low Maintenance: Perennials come back year after year, reducing the need for replanting.
🌼 Continuous Blooms: They offer a succession of blooms, providing a consistent food source for pollinators.
🌞 Eco-Friendly: Supporting pollinators helps maintain the ecological balance and boosts your garden's health.
Additional Tips:
Plant in Groups: Larger clusters of flowers are more attractive to pollinators.
Provide Water Sources: A shallow water dish or birdbath can help support visiting pollinators.
Avoid Pesticides: Opt for organic pest control methods to keep your garden safe for pollinators.

Hi!
My name is Justin and I have my managed my family's business (S&K Greenhouse) for the last 10 years! It is a local garden center in Shelby, NC that my family started around 25 years ago.
We have a strong desire to discuss and teach gardening to the online community and welcome anyone who wants to learn. Though we have been involved in the plant world for decades we have found that there is always something to learn when it comes to gardening.
Whether you are a master gardener or just starting out this channel is for you. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch our videos!

I bought my first Bee Balm this season. I can't wait until my hummingbirds find it. Summer is on it's way.

He should have mentioned that Monarda spreads like wildfire. It travels underground and can pop up multiple feet away from the original plant site. You'll love the smell even just brushing against the leaves.

Justin, I love all of those perennials, and I have all of them in my garden except for the Cat's Pajamas catmint, because I haven't been able to find it in my area. I grow lantana because I love it, however it's an annual in my zone 5a. I need to get my two Gro-Rite Garden beds together and filled so I can plant them as soon as possible. Blessings to you and your loved ones. ~Margie🤗💐🦋🐝

I'm in Zone 8a. I planted some Dark Pink Moody Blues Speedwell 4 years ago. Since that time we have divided it and/or moved it (2 or 3 times) and it just keeps going like a champ. I have to add one time we transplanted it during the hot summer and it never appeared to have realized it had been moved (never wilted). When the first round of blooms have faded, I cut it all the way back to the ground (just chopped it a few days ago). It will come back and keep blooming through the fall. One year they were still blooming in December! I love this plant so much I planted Moody Blues Dark Blue and Pink (a blush pink) in an area of our backyard this spring. I also have plans to divide the Dark Pink once again so I can place it in another area. I find that if you can deadhead the spent blooms and pinch, it will grow bushier and have an increase in blooms. One of my Dark Pink plants has a tendency to get a few dark blue flowers on it or a few that are half pink have blue! Glad to see you and love your videos!

Great plant selections for attracting pollinators. We have most of these flowers in our garden and we have other flowers that bees love, Astrantias, Agapanthus, Brook thistle, Sage caradonna, Knapweed, Coreopsis, Cranesbill geraniums, Rudbeckia, Campanula, Alstroemeria, Astilbes, Orvala, Calla lilies, Crocosmia, Osteospermums, Ajuga, Hebes, Fuchsias, Trollius chinensis and Daylilies.

What about zenia or dahlia for attracting pollination? Are marigolds good to put around your container garden to keep out raccoons and other critters?

Being that all plants play vital roles in nature which is self evident as they act as food homes and attractors to animals and insects such as birds and bees and Being that plants are living beings and as such are entitled to the same rights as any other living being, to live, and Being that all life by its nature is life affirming we confirm all plants are in fact good

Please do a video about how to design a plant bed on a property line. I live in a semi detached house and share a front lawn with neighbors. The bed is in the middle so it will be visible from both sides. Thank you.

I wish I had the space 😢. I have small patio above ground & 2, 10ft by 10ft (or so) community gardening areas. I need tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants to fit aside garlic, so not sure how to fix flowers that spread...😢

What about rabbit resistant lol. We have critters. Also….u said one “prefers poor soil” but followed it up with “mist drain well” 😂 U don’t live in Alabama. We have clay. Yay right. Sigh. I’ve taken top soil that’s pretty much tiny mulch. I call it tiny mulch anyway. I mix it in when i plant anything. We also heavy mulch twice a year and fertilize. If I didn’t do all that my ground would be like cement.

Please help decriminalize all (non-gmo) plants cactus and fungus. All plants are technically legal but some organizations lie about it and have been known to harass them in the past and we want it to stop as we love plants.
