This was great. All the guitars were stellar, but my favorite is probably the Gretch Jet. What a beautiful singlecut, with a classic look and solid tones. I thought it sounded brighter than a Les Paul, and that appeals to me. Silver Sky looked nice too, and sounded great. The idea of a Strat with a 3x3 headstock I've always been attracted to. But that 7 1/4" radius bug me, and I'm not sure why.

Solid choices. As much as I love the Frankenstein Relic, it just seems to not feel as right as the Frankie striped relics.

Gibson's semi-hollowbodies like the ES-335 and ES-339 have tops and backs constructed of layers (either 3 or 4) of maple veneer. My understanding is that the veneers are assembled in successive cross-grain layers with the top layer having its grain longitudinal to the length of the guitar. The tops and backs are approximately 1/4" in thickness after layup.

Aye I am currently saving for a guitar in this range let’s just call it about £2500 so far I am wanting a Gibson Les Paul Standard gold top. However I can’t decide pick guard or no guard will be in the PMT store in Newcastle in the new year to hopefully spend some coin

I have owned American Strats, ditto Telecaster, a Les Paul and an ESP, over 30 years or more. In my experience the Silver Sky I have just purchased is in a league of its own. That said I have no experience of “high end “ guitars such as custom shop Strats, many of which look like they have been dragged down the road. I struggle to believe that £8k or so buys something that much better than the Sky.

Nothing sounds as good as a 50s LP standard. Ive played everything in thirty years and a 50s standard is my main axe. You just cant beat em. They are a complete workhorse that can do it all. From a tele on steroids to rip your face off shred to classy glassy cleans. Thats why most pros play Gibsons.

First guitar of 2024 for me a Gretsch G2420 finally something very acoustic that doesnt sound like crap for under $600 lol 😅 also love seeing Dagan play these shreddy guitars your channel was the first i came to when i first started watching the youtube guitar channels definitely one of my favorite and Dagan makes that so keep shredding dude! Absolutely love it!

Hmmm, sounds like something someone would say who’s never played the real thing,or can’t afford one. Just the difference in pick ups and electrics are like chalk and cheese, let alone the build quality. Gibsons are worth every penny!!!😊

Great video review as always! The Les Paul and the Jackson look/sound great but the Gibson's a bit pricey. On the other hand just about everything about the "Silver Sky" grated on me from the thin sound to the fact it looks like it was made by Daisy Rock for Barbie... By the way, almost as bad is that plinky plonky finger picking thing you play in almost every video. Honestly I watch every one and it's the only bit I ever skip ASAP. :)

Big facts bro. I have the Epi LP Custom Jerry Cantrell Wino and it's ridiculously amazing. I put Gibson 498t/490r pups in and orange drop caps and now I'll put it up against my Gibson Lp standard all day long, in fact I do lol. I gig it regularly and people constantly comment on how good it sounds for an Epi. Plus that custom Jerry Cantrell sig neck profile is sooooo good, no goofy D-shaped neck here lol.

@@booshting3520 well I'm neither a beginner or broke. Been playing for 18 years and already own expensive guitars per my last comment. I said I put it up against my Gibson LP standard all day and the neck plays better and honestly sounds much better and my Gibson already sounds great. So just don't see a need to needlessly spend big money for something I don't find worth it.

@@booshting3520 While that is true for as you said if you're a beginner or not financially in a great spot. I will say that the Jerry Cantrell LP custom Wino and the Adam Jones silverburst LP Custom are the best quality Epiphones that I have played QC top notch, pots and pups top notch and neck profile Gibsons exact profile. It's a good buy for any level, especially if you play out a lot and don't want to needlessly drag your multiple K's guitars around when you're getting the same sound quality and feel of the expensive stuff.

After a year of research I decided on a brand new custom shop guitar from Kalamazoo. Within 6 months, most of the inlays had lifted out of the fret board, along with a host of various other unacceptable defects. Returned for a full refund and I will continue to invest my money in Japanese brands from now on. Just my 2 cents…….
