Just so you know the song We are Never Ever getting back together wasn't written because Jake tried to get back together with Taylor per say. She has told the story repeatedly (without mentioning which guy it was about) the story of why she wrote it. One of the exe's friends come up to her and said I heard you two were getting back together. The song was her way of squashing that rumor. She told her exe's friend that wasn't true. It is a song more about the rumor mill and how people were going around telling other people she was getting back together with this guy. Which wasn't true.

Okay, some history for the younger crowd and this is a pretty good on topic story: Melissa Etheridge slept with Lou Diamond Phillips' wife and wrote a song about it called The Boy Feels Strange. But wait, it gets better. Melissa Etheridge went on to couple with Lou Diamond Phillips' ex who cheated on Melissa Etheridge with KD Lang. KD Lang wrote an entire album (her most successful) about sleeping with the same girl who was now with Melissa Etheridge. That's messed up, but true.

The Taylor thing. Apparently she was at a writing session when a friend phoned her and said something along the lines of he was talking about them maybe getting back together or hooking up or something and that's what inspired the song because she was annoyed.
