Firstly, I haven't had Yerba Mate for decades! Thanks for the reminder. Secondly: While there is ALWAYS a place for dedicated landscape photographs, there is also definitely a place for man in nature. I have enjoyed James Popsys for his almost unique interest in this subject and will be interested to see where you take your photography into the future.

Thanks Trevor. I'm finding that I really enjoy shooting both. What I've learnt so far from shooting the man-made is that there seems to be a lot more flexibility, certainly in terms of timing and when you can shoot it. Excited to see where it takes me too.

My other half (who is not a photographer) wandered in while I was watching this on the TV and ended up watching almost 20 minutes of it and thoroughly enjoyed the video. I can only agree with her a great video you made me laugh out loud a few times, and I do agree about having fun. Congratulations on the first 10K subscribers. Another lovely video! Thank you for taking us along, not only on the trip but on your journey as a photographer. Enjoy the Tetons and Yellowstone! They are magical. However, we tend to stay away from national parks because they require permits that are nearly impossible for us to get as small creators. We have found many gems on the outskirts of many NPs, so that's where we focus our attention lately. Are you familiar with the restrictions for filming in the US in national parks? ~Kristina

First observation, the walls of graffiti were amazing on video, but way too busy for a photo that told a story... Didn't stop me from wishing though! The rest of the video was quite enchanting, seeing what worked, and what didn't, was brilliant, Rick. Me jealous? No of course not... (my eyes are naturally green...) The bottom end of Chile is very enticing, I admit.

Yeah, I think I shot the video first and then tried to rush a photo. Note to self - always spend a bit more time if you think somewhere has potential! I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the comment 👍🏻

Enjoyed the video. I did wonder how you got time to walk around Puerto Williams, I was on that bus that caught alight lol. I got a few photos from the airport there but not enough of the whole area.

I really enjoyed your wide choice of images to showcase the Patagonia and surrounding area. Should I have laughed out loud about the story how the dead trees came about. That’s crazy, obviously not SAS trained and carried his droppings in his back back or pocket. Your narration was so interesting and great to hear about your ongoing quest to see the landscape differently and not take this classic shots. I think we all try to look for originality. Excellent video as usual. Looking forward to your next one at the end of summer…😇

Chilean here, I had not heard of the ribeye with chips lol. Must be a local thing. Otoh, that shot of the coaches is such a common sight over here, it feels like home. I love it. edit: i'll add that I really like that you include your missed shots and failures; it's always interesting to see other photographers fail like one regularly does.

I actually have a question: if the budget wasn’t an issue, which camera would you recommend to someone with little experience with photography, yet with good eye, who mainly takes photos when traveling. The Fuji you’re using?

That's a hard question to answer, and I'm leaning towards this being my stock reply to these kind of questions (because it's the only thing I can back up after over a decade of doing this!!). Buy whatever camera inspires you to pick it up and use it. Don't worry too much about the technical aspects because the majority of cameras released in the last few years will take a decent image. I am rather partial to Fujifilm cameras and think they are really good fun to use. You can get relatively cheap X-T4s now, and the smaller X-T30. Pretty much all the functionality of the on eI use in this but with interchangeable lenses....
