since watching Friday kiss, I have meditated on a weekly basis and my life has changed for the better. I went from no job, to a good job. I went from having home life problems, to looking forward to my friends and family. if I have a problem I meditate on that problem and it seems less scary.

I have been following videos on here and working with my brother. I did start with breathing exercises and being more mindful of everyday life. Through meditation I can focus on the now more than my future happiness. This has allowed me to move on with my life. If this is something your interested in, please try it.

@Tian 333 I’m trying to say that this world is multidimensional..people in war torn Syria will travel a very dangerous journey to find safety.. you don;t have to stay in a war zone, you can find a paradise island, or where ever your heart finds peace.. I agree, I am very lucky

@Tian 333 sorry to read you are persecuted. When I say multidimensional I kind of mean that in one moment on Earth in a war torn city someone has had the most beautiful kiss.. there is a billionaire who has everything whose 4 year old child has just died in a tragic accident, there is a great book on a bookshelf that has never been read, there is someone bored of themself, there is a cow who is glad her calf has been taken from her because she hates looking after calves..I’m just saying there is choice and chance, there is change which we can control to some extent..even in a prison there is a choice to be mindful

Be careful. It's not about following the wise, but allowing them to unlock the wisdom that has always been in you. As Krishnamurti said, "The moment you follow someone, you cease to follow the truth." "“My teaching is not a doctrine or a philosophy. The things I say come from my own experience. You can confirm them all by your own experience." - The Buddha

I love living as a Buddhist monk. Only living in the present could remove the past.
@comicsans7437
@comicsans7437 3 жыл бұрын
Nothing can *remove* the past. In fact it is important to look at the past to learn from it and better yourself in the moment and for the future. I understand living in the moment as not dwelling on *your* past, thinking of what you could have done different or wishing you could change it. So by all means don't try to be rid of the past, accept what has happened before and take lessons from it. Let it help you grow. Respect, love and peace to you :)

I'm a sri lankan buddhist. When we consider overall philosophy of Buddha, these are some several things in this video that buddha has said. The overall philosophy of buddha always says that, find out and realise, first 'What is the suffer?', second 'What is the reason for the suffer?', third 'find what is the way in which the suffer should lose?' and last ' go ahead with the way in which the suffer should lose.'. Buddha has found out the all the answers for these questions. This is the overall philosophy of buddha. After you go ahead with the way buddha said, you will never born in any other planet or earth. However in the philosophy has mentioned all the instructions for these steps. To understand these instructions, people should very care and wise. Therefore, should need a good instructructer like buddhist monk. follow these two videos. (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gNZ7iKx9mLaqYJ8.html ) (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aLVzf5pht8zYeGg.html )

The purpose of making a sculpture of The Buddha is to depict the human form in the most calm, symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing way. This is why many different cultures contributed to this aesthetic. That is that. The Buddha is human. Buddha means Awake or Enlightened. It is a potential in every human being. It is you and me and all others here. Praying to Buddha means nothing because The Buddha is not a god. It is even questionable whether there is anything like a god. No, The Buddha never asks to pray to his statue. As mentioned before, his statue is symbolic of him as an enlightened man and also usually depicts a meditative position which is to be practiced. The Buddha did teach about the workings of the universe in detail. The theory is called Pratitya Samutpada or Codependent Origination. The contemporary scientific method is also catching up to what The Buddha taught. A Buddha gets his knowledge from meditating, refining his thought processes, concentration and training to live in the present. The 3 fundamentals of Buddhism are: 1 Pragya - High knowledge. Reason based knowledge 2 Sheel - Calm, composed, balanced, awake behaviour 3 Samadhi - Concentration

Fredaa Li ,God the Creator saves. Everything from the start of heaven, hell and universe were created by the God. Everything that were created by God are being controlled by God, not by someone who is staying in a small place in Palestine who can only teach and communicate with a few people there. What Jesus did there was same as all other previous prophets that God have created there. Meaning Jesus is not God. God is always controlling everything, if not, than things cannot function or exist. So meaning God cannot be a human staying in Palestine. God have not shown Himself to anybody on this earth, nobody knows how God looks like. We can only see God later in heaven. God is so almighty that nothing on this earth can withstand the sight of God. That's why we can only see God in heaven which is a special mighty place, no other place better or bigger than heaven. So meaning only to God the Creator that we have to submit.

The Buddhist meditation techniques are hands down the most beneficial "habit" I know of. There is nothing that comes even close. Yet, it is also basically the most difficult habit to implement, since it is so incredibly simple, yet unbelievably hard to implement. Nonetheless, I can only recommend it from experience... nothing helped me more =)

The real meditation state is not really to be practiced by sitting quietly in a quiet environment for minutes or hours. The real meditation state is to be conducted during a normal life activity 24 hours, even when sleeping.

@@yinyang-dc6342 That depends on what you mean by "real" =) you certainly can be mindful during every day life, but I have never heard of a person that can reach deep states of concentration while moving

@@TheDhammaHub That is the secret! As far as I know, in a normal meditation as we are taught is to have nothing in our mind with peaceful and motionless body and soul. In the same manner, the real meditation is to be in motion with peaceful body and soul and conscious in our mind of what we think, speak and act based on "do not hurt yourself; do not hurt others; help (save) yourself and help (save) others.

@@TheDhammaHub he is right. to be in a meditative state you need to have no effort at all. when you concentrate you apply effort because you want to achieve something otherwise if you are on a natural state you don't need concentration. so meditation is quite the opposite its decentralization. And of course it doesn't need any practice at all, practice is also done to accomplish something in the future so struggle again with accepting the now.

A Buddha is not a lord or God and is not one but oneself, it is many, a Buddha is a person. When a practicing Buddha ( a person trying to become enlightened) becomes enlightened they become a Buddha. So when you see a statue of a Buddha it is a statue of a real person who became enlightened so each statue is different ( unless it’s the mass produced stereotype of the fat bald guy)

Tania? Are you friends living a peaceful life? A journalist was traveling across Africa and came to a little poor village. He saw a little poor boy .The journalist had some chocolate left and offered it to the little boy. The little boy refused. Wouldn't the chocolate make you happy? The little boy answered. How can I be happy if my friends are not happy. Thinking of only your happiness and concentrating on making yourself happy is simply the working of the ego. The spirit of Mahayana is not just save ourselves but to save all beings and put their enlightenment ahead of o I am not trying to preach to you but simply conveying what it took me 50 years to learn. Think about what I am telling you. Think what wonderful world this could be if we all acknowledged the benefits we received from others.

I'm glad you found something to be proud about. But does it matter if buddha was born in India? Are you not proud that a teacher was born to show people technique on living a peacefully? Are you not proud his teaching help lives of many all around the world? When you start taking ownership of things is when you start thinking of yourself or your group. We are all family. This world belong to all of us (plants, animals and humans). So when you start thinking all of us as one then I think that is something to be proud about too.
