I feel like it's not fair to make fun of teams for "drafting bad". Nobody knows who's going to make it or not. Obviously there's key things to predicting future successful NBA players. But I just love how when a GM picks a late first rounder or second rounder that turns up good And gets a shit ton of credit when in reality a bunch of the good players had already been taken and that was the best player remaining. Also a lot has to do with what the player is drafted into. If you've been drafted by the Spurs or Celtics in the last few years I Guarantee you've been better off than if you got drafted to the Kings or Hawks. Imagine all the players that wouldnt have been busts if they were drafted into a different system or all the players that wouldn't have been as successful if it weren't for being drafted into a perfect situation for them.

All of this are just big what ifs and to be honest it is hard to say that klay and kawhi will be this good if they are not on the team they are currently playing. Do you think kobe will be a legend if he was not traded to the lakers or Jordan will be the GOAT if Pippen is not traded to the bulls.

The Sixers pick of Okafor even though it did turn out to be awful it's worth mentioning that porzingis refused to work out for the Sixers so they couldn't really take him and Sam hinkie tried to trade Okafor at the trade deadline to the Celtics for a first-round pick but the NBA rejected the trade proposal and Sam hinkie was forced to resign. If they'd had flipped him for another top 3 pick it wouldn't look so bad. Really good stuff though!

Coming from an excited for the first time in awhile Pelicans fan I have a love hate relationship with the draft. Especially this draft even with the “can’t miss” Zion. I really hate to sound this way but no one can tell the future and Zion can have a solid all star caliber career but as much as he has been hyped he would still be a disappointment cause he isn’t the second coming of Barkley or hell even Lebron I think most people need to realize even though they are paid millions they are still human and no one can know how the future will pan out especially so much pressure put on an 18 year old kid.
