My notes on this lecture Piety---comport yourselves in the most islamic manners Dua-supplications for righteous children Exemplary conduct-do what you want to see your kids do Kindness to children /bonding Education -help them gain education that will be beneficial to them in this world and the hereafter A good environment--an islamicly conducive home.A positive environment for the kids to practice what you preach to them A systematic style of discipline Consciousness of the consequences of choices Love for the Prophet Muhammad--expose them to the life of the Prophet and his companions. This makes them take up these noble group of people their role models Make Ruqqiyah --suratul fateeha, ikhlas, falaq and nasty Have an islamic library Consistency -both parents should be on the same page so kids don't get to play them. Play Quran in your home Equip them with how to deal with outsiders who do what they have been told is wrong. Choose the islamic schools for them so they get to interact with like minds. It's never too late to learn. Learn and keep improving yourself

If there is no compulsion in islam then why not let the child decide when it is of age if it wants to be muslim.

Islam is a lifestyle not only believes, and raising a child in a muslim family makes him automatically Muslim. When he grows up if he feels that he is not comfortable with that, he can choose not to be a muslim anymore.

@@aminamostefaoui7240 utter rubbish. You teach a child that it is a muslim, you indoctrinate it, and then you tell them about apostasy - 9:73-74 O Prophet, strive [j-h-d] hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be adamant and stern with them . . . they did utter the words of unbelief. Thus, they were guilty of unbelief after they professed Islam . . . If even now they repent of their misbehavior, it will be good for their own selves, but if they do not repent, Allah will chastise them with a painful chastisement in this world and the Hereafter.

@@flyagaric1607 everyone "indoctrinates" their kids by telling them what they think is right and wrong. Does this mean you should simply let children do whatever they see fit? Of course not! We must teach our children morality. And because we are muslim we know that what Allah has sent us is yhe best moral system. Even as Muslims, sometimes we disagree among each other about particular issues, but we try our best. The problem with you and people like you is that you view your moral system as "obvious" (in that you should teach it to children) but make a distinction for other people

@@TheShows247 How can you say it is the 'best moral system' when you are prepared to chop off somebody's hands for stealing. I have stolen in the past (petty theft, nothing major, but still theft,), and if I had my hands chopped off i would NOT have been able to give back much much more than i have ever stolen. That is NOT 'morality' as you would like to think it is, that is butchery, and there is no morality in condemning someone to a miserable life, disabling them, and potentially rendering them unable to give back to society. Some of the most giving people are those who have once taken. Muslims might think it is a good idea to chop hands off but seriously, you are mistaken. Perhaps you might like to explain what deserves the chopping off of hands, ages whereby it is imposed, and for what kind of theft.

@@flyagaric1607 Stealing is not moral, just because you've stolen. As if you'd be the one to talk about morality. How is locking people up in a cage for potentially the rest of their life any more "moral"? And to answer your question there is a minimum amount stolen before a punishment is imposed. And it's only if they do not steal to survive or for the survival of their children/ family, but only from greed. And only if the person stolen from does not want it back. Those are the conditions, and I refuse to take any moral judgement from a shameless thief, only from my Lord and your Lord, the Sustainer of all worlds. I advise you to repent from your ways, because repentance and belief erase all that has come before.
