I literally took my camera strap off last week. The lens I use most often is a Sigma 150-600 which I carry by the tripod collar, and when shooting macro or anything with a tripod the strap usually gets in the way at some point. Love the content man- certainly a major, positive influence for my skillset and passion. And the mini printer is an AMAZING tip- I'm shooting my sisters wedding in a few months and I totally see the little photos being a huge hit.

Great recommendations however in regards to the sensor cleaning kit, under no circumstances clean your sensor out in the open if you can, but if there's no option don't scrub on it back and forth either. It's a 2 pass motion to clean your sensor, any more you risk the chance of scratching it.

Strapless gang! Thanks for sharing your thought process behind your gear - I always love seeing these kinds of BTS footage in the mix. The mobile printer is a great idea and would love to see mirrorless cameras adopt a direct to printer function to avoid having to send it to your phone first. I have a Fuji Instax that will shoot straight to print but the camera quality is pretty poor. Thanks for sharing your journey!

I definitely would still use the wrist strap for less safe environments. I know even with my wrist strap I feel unsafe in downtown New Orleans but it’s definitely better than the neck strap! I also love the bag clip. I also have used a sensor cleaning kit(my first week with my mirrorless I touched the sensor while changing lenses smh) and would suggest it to everyone to keep on them! I also love the idea of the baby photo printer for shots to give to people!

Peak design clip was a godsend on my 7 day hike in the mountains. So goood! Also shoot without a strap, way more comfortable naked.

My favourite accessoire is the Tiffen Black Pro Mist Filter on my Sigma 35 1.4. It gives every picture a smooth look and brings a bit of haze to them

I've been wondering about that clip because I dislike shooting with a strap, but sometimes it can also get inconvenient without one when you are going out with a lot of gear. I can wait to get one, think it'll be a game changer.

Hi! new suscriber from Mexico here. I agree with all of the accessories! I would add a few more though: 1. GNARBOX (if you're a travel photographer its really hard to carry a laptop and dongles to backup your work on a daily basis, Gnarbox backs up and organizes your footage and photos just by inserting the sd card. trust me, once you get one you won't be able to travel anywhere without it. 2. MEDIUM/LARGE DRYBAG: even If you're responsible enough to check the weather, you never know when you're going to get in an awkward situation. Being able to throw your essentials and expensive stuff into a drybag is a big help. 3.LENS CLEANING KIT . I like to clean my sensor at home, I can "close" my camera sensor so it doesn't get as dirty, but the lenses do take some punishment from time to time. I think it's a great idea to pack an air blaster and a cleaning brush :). Im loving your content by the way. Congrats!

I recently started photography with a Sony A7IV and have found your videos very useful Pierre! I have the PD slide lite but rarely used it. Instead, I use the PD cuff all the time. Might consider the PD clip in the near future.

I've cleaned several sensors. I have a rocket blower as the first port of call, I've now purchased the Pentax gel stick for dabbing dust and hairs off also now. Last option is wet cleaning which is very easy as you're cleaning the tempered glass in front of the sensor. As long as you are careful there's no risk. I have a 2 in one ND/CPL which I find amazing and it's an 82mm and I own several step down rings. So this one filter covers nearly all my lenses. My Peak Design straps have been a big game changer also, very comfortable and easy to attach and detach. I have several USB card readers spread among my camera bags, pouches etc. Considering the PD Capture Clip, the price is what's putting me off at the moment.

Cheers for the video Mate! So I shoot Canon (still on 5D MKIV) and use the Peak Design Capture Clip, A FF Sensor Cleaner (not that one you mention - cant recall the brand), Think Tank Card Holder. For others - I have a Peak Design Field Pouch (V1) for all my cables/chargers & 100% use the Peak Design Slide strap - I shoot mostly family stuff and some non paid activities for friends and family - mostly in a single location and not far from my bag - so I use the strap as its across the body and I just throw my camera with grip attached behind me and I find it super efficient as it’s comfortable and as its behind me I never (touch wood) smash my camera around.

Peak Design Capture Clip forever! I use the strap only if I go for a walk and just want the camera with one lense, no backpack.

I shoot portraiture, mostly in a studio so I don't use straps but whenever my client wants an outdoor shoot, I only use my wrist strap for that ''just in case'' peace of mind.

I saw a PD Clip for the first time on your channel. I have been using it for 6 months and it is irreplaceable. I sincerely recommend

I use the same Peak Design clip with my backpack. When I’ve got my bag on I won’t use a strap, but if I’m not using the bag, I’ll put my strap back on so I can carry the camera around more easily.

I’m hybrid on the strap. I have a scarf one made of soft fabric so I can carry the camera around my neck but then when I’m actively shooting I take it off and wrap it loosely on my arm. If I drop the camera it will still fall all the way but slower giving me time to catch it and I still get the feeling of strapless shooting.

Used various straps over the years, but they kept getting in the way & are cumbersome. Especially when packing into my bag. Been using a small rig hand strap which I like.

I'm using a a double SD card reader from prograde, and I love it. It's fast, usb c, it's really rugged and the bottom has a magnet in it, so you can attach it to the included metal plate. You can stick the metal plate to the back of your laptop.

I had a Peak Design SD card holder and got rid of it. I was doing weddings and church functions at the time and I hated the sound of the Velcro when trying to open the holder. I now use a Lowepro hard case that holds 8 SD cards. When I use a card, I'll put it in the case back side of card facing out so I know it has pictures or video on it. I want to get the camera clip that hold your camera on the backpack strap by your chest area, that just seems so useful! I get slightly irritated always having to pull my camera straight out of my backpack all the time HAHA. Love the tips in this video! 💯✔️🔥

Yup, I shoot without a strap and when I'm out hiking around I know very well how much $ I'm holding so it makes me extra cautious. I find that when I'm trying to set up quick for some tripod long exposure scenarios that it gets in the way, but I have been meaning to get the Peak Designs mount.

For me the Spider Holster on a steel lined gun belt, Spider hand grips and a peak Design back pack. I love cleaning my sensors too lol

I completely agree about the strap. I have two a7iii’s and a peak design strap but I never use it. It feels so solid with the grip. I never worry about dropping it

I recently took the straps off all my nikons, currently using smallrig and K&F wrist straps, but usally shoting just eiyh hands. Favorite accessory is the L bracket. I have also put them on all my bodies. Tripod use is alot eaiser !!

Cleaning the sensor is very easy just take your time use the proper size swab.

I now shoot without a strap most of the time becasue, I agree! It definetly does get in the way. But I do tend to wear my wrist strap in the city because it is so busy so I have it just incase I get bumped and drop it or someone even tries to steal it off me.

I use pocket printer, SDcard reader, and filters (polarizing and promist). As for straps I didn't use that like ever, because my setup is extremely light for a fullframe if I go with my Sony A7 MK1 and 50/1.8 it's whole 630g, well all depends on you with what you wanna go and what you actually need for the shoot though, not gonna tell you how to live xD

I also do not use the camera strap but that clip looks sooo handy

I love the capture clip and pro pad on my belt. I hate the way cameras dangle from a strap. It’s the perfect solution for me. Gonna have to snag one of those mini printers

I usually have the Peak Design camera strap but it stays in the camera bag. The material is stiff with almost no padding so not particularly comfortable. My favorite strap remains Crumpler Industry Disgrace. One accessory I like to have with me on location is a USB power bank.

I use a strap because it makes changing lenses easier. If I don't want it around my neck I wrap it around my wrist.

great tips!🤘🏼when you're transferring pics to your phone - to use the mobile printer - are you transferring them at full resolution, or at 2M? those are my only options on the a7iv, and I've found the 2M versions to be very soft and somewhat blurry? I just switched from Canon to Sony, so maybe I'm missing a step in the setup?

I have been using that sensor cleaning kit for years and still carry a couple of swabs and the small bottle of fluid with me, LOL I have been using think tank photo products for years, I have had several of the pixel pocket rockets I currently use the secure pixel pocket rocket, I remember carrying both CF and SD cards when I was shooting my Canon DSLR's that used two different cards. I carry both a polarizer and a variable ND filter. I started just carrying my iPad along with me instead of my laptop to cut the weight and I got adapters so I can download SD cards to it, although I sometimes just use Sony Imaging Edge to transfer my photos if I don't need to do RAW files. Camera straps funny how that turned out for me, I used to use neck straps with my DSLR's but when they got bigger and heavier my neck and back would hurt, I started using the cross body straps like those from Black Rapid and that was a game changer for me, now with my small camera I'm back to a neck strap, a very nice black one made from paracord. I'm not doing photography as a business anymore my current camera is a Sony a6600 with one sd card slot and Im very happy with it a couple of years ago I sold my Canon gear and got the Sony my bag weight dropped quite a bit around 8 or 9 lbs the heaviest thing I carry now is my water bottle. I may get back to photography as a business one day.

I don't use a camera strap. Over the many years, I've seen them/had one break resulting in floor meeting camera. I use a Smallrig L bracket. It now only allows me to change landscape to portrait fast, without having to re-level the tripod, but I can now get a super sturdy grip with my left hand as well.

Never have used a hand strap, barely use a shoulder strap ever. Freeballin it. Feels good!

No strap but I use the PD clutch. Especially when I have my fairly heavy sigma 150-600 it takes the weight of my wristdangling it when not in use. See so many tourists advertise they have expensive cameras via the strap! Is like amazon for thieves! I attach my SD card case to my bag so it never has a chance of falling out. Bought the PD clip after watching your vids. Game changer. Get odd looks, but frees up my hands when stumbling over rocks. Was cautious over using a sensor cleaner, but if you say so will give it a go!

I shoot without the camera strap, only wrist strap, and it usually works well but it's annoying if I need to use both hands. I don't have the clip so I can't attach the camera somewhere so my next plan is actually to get a military sling, one that is more practical than a normal camera strap.

Aah the sensor cleaning kit, I remember myself as a beginner cleaning the objective without knowing the dust was on my sensor.

Recently got a Lowepro shoulder bag from a thrift store for literally 8USD. It doesn't have the removable inserts but it came with a wallet-like memory card holder.

I have a question. Are mirror cameras like Nikon D800 suitable for street photography? And which lens is better fixed or zoom?

Straps just get in the way. If I ever need one I better be going up Mount Everest or some crazy hike where there is a lot of wind.

The grip on A7 is imperfect. The Card Reader cover is so wobbly. So far it is almost a single complain about the camera. UPD. A few other complains: rolling shutter, Only one slot supports cfexpress, cfexpress type a instead of type B, only 10 FPS when using lossy compression.

I like the strap. I shorten it up and wrap it around the back of my neck or elbow to help steady the camera. It’s not a tripod but it might get you a stop or two.

Concert photographer. I stopped shooting with a strap this past year. It just got in the way ALL THE TIME. I've thought about getting a clip, but given the nature of what I do I'm around a lot of people with open beverages, and I'm just too concerned about the possibility of someone spilling a beer on me and it getting all over the camera. Between sets I'll just throw my camera in my bag. A portable printer might be something worth looking into, especially if I were to print my contact info on the opposite side and basically have a personalized business card.

I took photos with phone for fun and my only accessory is macro lens with clip, coz built-in marco camera in my phone has very bad quality, but with this lens I can shoot macro photos with my main rare camera

I had the same exact experience with the camera strap! I still take it with me. But, I barely use it anymore

Happy to say I have all these accessories, or at least a version of them. I use a peak design clutch with my Sony. It's secure and convenient and doesn't get in the way. The Peak Design clip is attached to the bottom of it. It's a great set up that I've never strayed from in the three years I've had my camera. Edit* With the exception of the printer. I wasn't able to find one with great reviews.

YES I shoot strapless too!! Haha And I absolutely love the PD capture V3, but I like use it on my belt, since I rarely use a backpack when shooting (I use a messenger-style bag) :)

I never use a camera strap when walking around for photography. Most cameras have a great grip so you will feel secure. I would recommend starting with a lighter prime lens to get used to the weight. But, I have walked around with a 70-200mm for a couple hours. Forearms were on fire!

I do have the capture clip actually, but one small downside is, that it kind of hurts on my shoulder when my bag is very heavy. But it's not that big of a deal.

Yes I've had memory cards break! They split like a sandwich the two sides come apart. I think they're better made now. I tend to use micro cards now. They are protected by the outer sleeve. Not broken one!

9:43 I still think the cheap Ebay "Quick Release Camera Belt Clip Buckle" is the best choice. (Review? maybe? because I see everyone goes to the expensive strap solution that you had) Upsides: It is cheap, it replaces your existing camera holder. (Cheaper alternative to have both if someone does not have it) Durable: I use it for years now and I still use the same one. I bought 2 because I thought it will break after some time, but, now I can use it with my second camera. Diverse: You can put the holder part on your belt, or your bag, or you can put it on your strap. I started to use it because of my gimbal I had to take down the straps. Fast and easy to use: It is fast to unclip just hold the lever, even faster to clip in the camera, just click it in. And you feel and hear when you clipped in so you can be sure it is holding. (just don't forget to clip back before you let it go if you clipped out :D) Simple and Secure: Once you clipped in you can't take it out without a lever, it is holding the camera in every direction. But you can unlock it with one hand on the go. Improvements: If you put a keyring in the hole on the little ball it is even tool less and takes a few seconds to take it off, and put back in it's holder to not loose it. Downsides: You have to use the tripod mount but it is still faster than detaching the strap every time. And more secure than not using it at all. It is not really friendly with camera grip side holding. It can move more in the holder than in your camera holder. If you got a tool less tripod mount it should be easy to replace. I can't imagine the situation when you have to move from neck strap to tripod that fast. (but also I'm not that energetic as you) If you use it for months it recommended to check sometimes if it is still tight. I used it for a half year before and it happend one time when I had to tighten it. It is more likely you forget that you clipped it out and just let go of the camera because it is that simple to use. I find my self lowering my camera until I feel it in the strap and just then release the camera. Optionally you could use it with a wrist srtap, and you pull out your hand against the holder so it is sure you won't drop it. I clip out the camera when it is on the table so I wont pull it off because it is that fast. The hardest thing to find where did I put the strap :D It would be awesome if someone developed a mini tripod head for it to use it as a ball head :D

Ive never used a strap, i just dont like the idea of the camera swinging around my neck, I think its more likely to hit something that way. I do use a Smallrig hand strap though which is great and allows for a loose grip on the camera while still staying safe.

I do that myself cleaning my sensor but I first use a blower then the cleaning brush and just 1 drop of cleaning luiqide. So show the right steps blower first.

I don't use my peak design strap anymore but I keep the anchor straps as if I want my friends to use my camera they're too nervous to touch it without a stap first 😝

I use the clip but from another brand and I also can’t shoot with the camera strap on. So many times that you flip your camera to shoot vertical and you get the strap in front of the lens. The other day I clipped the strap in the camera and it was there till the first photo only 😂 But I keep it all the time on my backpack 🤷🏻‍♂️

Best camera accessories = lense & SD cards. I do have sensor cleaning kit, I've seen people do some harsh stuff to a sensor and not ruin it so I'm not afraid with it. Also I hardly ever use a strap, most of my shots are from the ground view, bugs, mushrooms etc. And I don't like the rubbing or sweat on my neck.
