I think the one the least likely to ever be broken is the 48.53 minutes per game of Wilt Chamberlain's 1961-62 season (80 games). Let's face it, it never gonna happen again in any era. The idea of anybody not taking a seat for a mere second during a whole season is more than ludicrous nowadays.

I expected you to mention Wilt Chamberlain's 50.4 ppg in 1961-62. It will never happen again. No one will average 48 minutes per game and I highly doubt any team will play with such a high pace.

Good stuff. Moses Malone was a monster on the boards. As soon as he joined the 76ers, I knew they'd win the championship. He was just what they were missed--inside scoring. That said, it's probable that both Chamberlain and Russell exceeded his totals in offensive rebounds. They both averaged over 22 boards a game, as did Nate Thurmond. I'm very sad we don't have video records of all those games.

Corey A.C.I.E um, yeah... that same team. Lmao what is your point? They won in ‘96 and lost in ‘95... meaning they wouldn’t have won 8 straight because they literally, you know, lost... in ‘95. Does this not make sense to you? And they didn’t lose because Jordan was “rusty” or anything like that, they lost because Shaq and even Horace Grant ate them alive because the bulls had NO inferior defense. The fixed that the next year. And if they couldn’t stop Shaq or Horace Grant inside, just imagine what Hakeem would’ve done. It would’ve been ugly

The University of San Francisco was not a traditional college basketball power, but it had won the national championship in 1955 and 1956. USF when Bill Russell and K.C. Here's another record that won't be broken from the 1956 Draft. The Celtics picked 3 players that would not only be Hall of Famers, but they also picked 3 future head coaches that would each lead the Celtics to two championships apiece. In order to break that record, a team will have to 4 different players in a single draft that will one day lead their team to multiple championships as a head coach. Not going to happen.

I was still excited last season, and it’s why I won $4k betting Toronto would win the ring. GS had just been to the finals to many times in a row(short summers to heal), their bench was getting old and thin, and none of their stars took care of themselves on the level of LeBron. So... injuries were bound to catch up to them.

From the number of teams, to contracts, players egos getting in the way, and injuries being a possibility, it's extremely unlikely a team will ever win 9 in a row. The team with the best chance of reaching that were the warriors and injuries and player contracts got in the way of that.

The least amount of time for this to be possible is 4 overtimes, and that is if harden plays all 4 quarters plus all overtime.

If Michael Jordan hadn't retired, he likely would have had 8 in a row...
@david.tousignant20
@david.tousignant20 4 жыл бұрын
No, not really. The '95 Chicago Bulls didn't had what it takes to past the Orlando Magic, even with Jordan. Why? They just lost Horace Grant via Free Agency to... The Orlando Magic. The Shaquille O'Neal and Horace Grant duo annihilated Chicago, because they lacked an interior presence. After the series, Jordan was asked by reporters what was the difference between '94 & '95. The answer was simple and fit what Tex Winters and Phil Jackson said : a solid PF who could defends and rebounds. In the summer of 1996, Dennis Rodman was brought in. And if it wasn't for his offensive rebounds in the NBA Finals (11 offensive rebounds on games 2 & 6), Chicago wouldn't had won neither in 1996. Jordan didn't scored a single in one of those games in the forth quarter when the game was still on the line. Jordan would had won 8 on a row... Not remotely close.

@@tomerickson7889 Opinion? Those are factual : 1) Jordan was in uniform when they got beaten by Orlando in 1995. And Jordan was on fire versus Charlotte, despite his shortcomings in the ECS. Chicago wasn't able to stop both Horace Grant and Shaquille O'Neal... Chicago lacked a rebounding PF and interior presence after Grant left for Orlando. 2) Phil Jackson, Krauss and Jordan agreed they wouldn't even had beaten Orlando without a solid presence inside brought by a solid PF... Those aren't my opinions, it's theirs! 3) About 1994, you should read Phil Jackson's book... Because you're still thinking it's my opinion. You should be inform about Phil Jackson & Tex Winters thoughts about the situation.

@@david.tousignant20 If I hadn't already seen the Tyson/Douglas fight, it would have been my opinion that Tyson was the more dominant fighter and would annihilate Douglas. My opinion would have been wrong. If they hadn't fought, it would still be my opinion. Therefore, every thing I said about Jordan winning 8 in a row is just my opinion, and your assertion is also just your opinion. For you to claim that something that didn't happen is fact is ludicrous.

Good point, but that's possible as long as all the key players suffer no major injuries during that particular season. That's hard to do over an 82 game season though, or if injuries don't affect them then basic sickness could since most of the nba season occurs during the winter which is when a lot of people normally get sick.
