Hi, A baby born in Finland does not Automatically become a citizen, expect either the father or mother has Finnish Citizenship.

A newborn becomes a citizen of one or more countries depending on the laws of those countries of which the parents are citizens of. It involves some process to inform and register new citizens. Being born in Finland doesn't automatically give the newborn citizenship of Finland, unless one of the parents is a Finnish citizen. An exception is a situation where the newborn doesn't have parents and no other country has laws granting citizenship to the newborn. No newborn will be left without any citizenship in any country.

@@Ucheprisca I would like to clarify the exception I mentioned earlier: A child who is born in Finland to parents who are foreign nationals may only in exceptional cases become a Finnish citizen alone, without a parent obtaining Finnish citizenship. In these cases, the child acquires Finnish citizenship based on his or her place of birth. A child will get Finnish citizenship based on his or her place of birth if: - the child does not get citizenship of any other country on the basis of his or her parents’ citizenship; - the child does not have even a secondary right to citizenship of another country on the basis of birth, for example through the confirmation of paternity or by declaration; - the child’s parents have refugee status or they have been granted protection against the authorities of their country of nationality; and the child would not be granted the citizenship of either parent without the assistance of the authorities of their country of nationality.

Hi, Yes schools are free for International student's Children. No, the medium of teaching is Finnish. But there are English Daycare schools where you have to pay for their services.

Absolutely your kids will be eligible for free education when you move to Finland with an A Permit and the language of studies for the kids are in Finnish, although there are English Schools where you can enroll your kids but you have to pay some amounts for that. Also, your kids will will be entitled to Child Benefit and other benefits even thou they are not Finnish Citizens.

Hello, thanks for your message. However, Finland does not have the skilled worker immigration program like the Uk and Canada, but if you get a Job contract from a company here, then you only need to pay for your Resident Permit and Flight Ticket to Finland.
