As someone who has been in a relationship for 9 years now, I cannot stress enough how important is to talk a lot to each other-communication is very important and so is comprehending each other. To add more, it is vital to have similar values and create a safe space for each other because in the long run, these are what ground the relationship. No matter what the individual likes/dislikes, is passionate about, their interests, etc, having similar values will lay a solid foundation for the relationship. Plus understanding each other's language of love and making an effort to express love the way the other person likes also helps. There was a dialogue in a movie I recently watched " When the negative memories take over the positive ones, the relationship begins to end ". For those who are struggling in their relationship. it might be time to think about the positive memories.

Honest conversation, listening to each other, helping each other, doing things together, respecting each other...you have a good relationship 🥰

My husband and I have also been together for 13 years (married for 9) and some of the tips you offered in this relationship are things we live by in our relationship. For us, the longer we are together, the deeper our relationship and understanding of one another grows! My husband is my favorite person to have conversations with, you guys do a lot of the same things we do! You are not wrong about 'conversation' being so important to a successful relationship! We also have hobbies we do together (playing video games mostly) but it is important that we have things we enjoy doing away from one another so that we still feel like individuals. Also, I loved hearing the One Piece theme in the car ride, my husband and I watch One Piece together! I initially came to this channel all those years ago for CongR but I've stayed because I love your relationship and all the fun you have together.
