he only good reason is to have the best funky-bluesy (single coil mode) on the planet and the best clean tones the very bad reasons = price, tuners (sometimes), trem, no good neck joint, no pure bypass, no out of phase, no neck+bridge pickup as single coil hard bends for the hands with this boring strat scale vs lp-sg with light gauge strings no 24 frets no dc except that it's a good guitar :)) but not really the best to play with not a great comfort with the guitar-strings-bends

I learned on a Fender Mustang before moving to a MIM Tele about a year later. Shortly after, I found my dream guitar in a Fender American Professional Jazzmaster, but I still like to go back to the Tele every so often just for fun. It really is a unique guitar that's a lot of fun to play. Only thing I miss is the offset I get with the Mustang and Jazzmaster, but to each there own.

Reason #8: Durability. The tele is a solid, rugged, enduring piece of design. None of that head-stock-breaking-off-neckjoint-cracking crap that you get with Gibsons. I've had two Gibbys (SG and Les) crack up on me, but last fall, after hurricane season, I went out in the yard and chopped up fallen trees with my '77 Tele.

Yes, Leo got it right first time. I've played Tele's for many years. I've tried others, but nothing, and I mean NOTHING compares to it. Many think of a tele as a country music only instrument, but that can't be father from the truth. Yes, it is a great CM guitar, but it's more than that. It can be used in all types of music. For me, it's excellent for jazz, and when I have a hankering to play surf music from the past, it does well with that too. The Tele is the most versatile guitar made, bar none!!

I own a Les Paul and I'm planning to buy an SG (coz I only play LP & SG).. although my real home is Country Music. I guess in my collection of LPs and SGs I can squeeze in One Telecaster just because I fuckin love country. Main reasons why I didn't buy Tele in the first place: Too light, goes all over the place when I play a riff.. I prefer humbuckers... I don't like the distance of the strings to the fretboard, it's too high (I know you can mod it but we did that to my schoolmate's tele and his high e string always gets destroyed on the bridge part..his is not a fender but still..) and final reason is I prefer 4 knobs.. and the switch ain't as easy to access compared to LP or SG. (I know there's a Tele deluxe but I dunno where I can buy one, I'm from the Philippines btw)
@jesseregenauer6306 жыл бұрын
You'd shit a gold brick if you tried my Telecaster.... It has a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails in the bridge. My favorite switch position is middle using both the stock neck single coil and the aftermarket hot rod in the bridge. I get the guitar to sound damn near morphed from aggressive Tele in to an SG or LP snarl on certain settings.........

No shit right???? This guitar is used weekly as I help host an open mic every Sunday night and also serve as an unofficial guitarist for the whomever is around "house band" as it would be. I play my Telecaster thru a Fender Super Champ X2 head thru a roughly 20 year old well broken in Fender Eminence 1X12 cab. Sounds fucking incredible.... EVERY guitar player that either watches and listens or plays it makes a comment as to the aggressive attitude the Tele has..... Just a mean motherfucker capable of everything in between for tonal expression........ Best thing I ever did to that guitar was have that S.D. Hot Rails dropped in to the bridge....
@finishin.my.coffee87805 жыл бұрын
I had a Squier John 5 Tele and it was almost as heavy as the Gibson Les Pauls I used to own. It was a great guitar but just too blingy for my tastes. Plus, I prefer the original 50s tele bridge design and a maple fretboard rather than rosewood. If you want a Tele Deluxe you can probably find a decent one on Reverb.com.
