I would tell friends (to be more specific guy friends) that I was going the clean and sober route and they would give me false praise and tell me that they were doing or trying to go the same way. What they would do was invite me over and say things like I'll make you a meal and we'll have sober drinks, only for me to go around and realise there was never gonna be any meal. Long story short I got sick of these people moved to another city got myself clean and work a spiritual programme with likeminded people.

Yes, I’m here too. I struggled w forgiveness bc it’s the whole earthly family against me. They say they’re Christian & I’m not. When question them no one has an answer but the thoughts of the mother is spread amongst them all. I ignore it, but struggled w forgiveness bc we’re conditioned to believe That forgiveness means having to confront someone when that is similar to getting back in the cage with the pitbull who bit you. Sometimes forgiveness can be done from afar and simply just keeping the peace and refusing to fall into the traps set for you by those individuals who repeatedly argue about the same things or have the same reactions which could be fighting which could be destroying things which could be spiritually and mentally or physically trying to destroy you or break you down. So I’m learning that forgiveness is not for them, but for you and as long as you replace those thoughts that are contrary to God‘s word with his word forgiveness will come in the enacted towards them by simply choosing to have a different more peaceful response, giving them nothing to argue with no holes to latch on to you.

Forgive and love them anyways and learn your Word and tell them in Grace God's word is like a sword and we don't wrestle with flesh and blood, we wrestle with principalities of the air and foul spirits.
