Jews and other prisoners are deported to labor camps. The Nazis attempt to dehumanize their prisoners and work and starve them to death.

This breaks my heart and makes me cry in anger. My mother inlaw was one of the Ukrainian women placed in a work camp. My mother inlaw departed Bremerhaven, Germany to the USA in 1951. My husband was born in the Republic of Germany in 1949, while my inlaws were still being house in a work camp. Her name appears on a document called Europe, Registration of Foreigners and German Persecutees, 1939-1947. I think it was her residence at that time.

My nana was taken to a farm in Germany, I have the man's name. I also found 3 birth certificates, my nanas children, she was 17 when taken. The 3 babies weren't with her at the DP camp after liberation and didn't come to Australia, mum was born at a DP camp too. Xo
