As someone who have long hair (1 year 7 months) i truely believe each other of his advice. I've cut my hair recently to a buzzcut. It was the best feeling ever after carrying my thick long hair for almost two years.

In the process of growing my hair out, I never needed any of those products. I shampooed my hair once a week(at max twice)after leaving heavy oil on hair overnight and I rarely conditioned it. I never felt like my hair needed any product.

I feel you. But there are plenty of African youtubers with extemely curly hair who talk about hair care. Coconut oil works wonders for me. Use it as leave in conditioner at night. Silk pillowcae is very important for curly hair. Avoid shampoos that contain SLS, and try keratin shampoo.

If you have really long hair I recommend using a bristle brush lean forward and brush gently it's annoying but worth it that will avoid a lot of breakage use a spray detangler before.

After 2.5 years of growing my hair. Dying it and making it beautiful, I decided to cut it yesterday and it feels amazing!! I learnt that long hair is a lot of work and I hardly had time. So I keep it on a man bun. I could say now that I did it and I am done with it!! Haha.
