In this video I talk about 7 things I wish I knew as a beginner silver stacker. When I first started silver stacking I had no idea what I was doing so I hope these silver stacking tips can keep you from making some of the silver stacking mistakes that I made. There are many different silver investing for beginners videos out there but my silver investing strategy mostly focuses on buying physical silver to retain my wealth. Silver stackers are typically looking to buy cheap silver and gold bullion so if anything you could call this silver bullion investing. I am wanting this video to act as a beginner silver stacking guide to new silver stackers. My silver stacking strategy might be different from yours but I hope that these silver investing tips can be of help to you.

46 years just poking along today at 30 ozs. a week. The least I have put aside in my life. As I have had a good run now through life. Never put 1 oz away to get rich. Instead only to retain wealth and provide a nice comfortable retirement. You beginners with less then 10 years of stacking experience keep it going you’ll never regret your collection.

Have an exit strategy. After 8 years just now finding out what I can get for my silver so I can trade up for gold. Luckily the info on this channel and in the community is pretty spot on. Never thought much about selling silver ever.

Great tips as always! Junk silver is a great way to get started since you can purchase in smaller amounts with less premium than fractional bullion. It still is the primary thing I stack so far as I can find it on a deal.

@@TheComicsDen I`m from Canada so we pay about 30% more than the US. The dealer I buy from is cheaper than any online seller I can find. Do generic rounds sell for less? I don`t care about who makes them as long it is good value. Also I pay cash and in Canada we don`t have to clam anything under $1000.

@@marilynbuchfink7062 IF you don't want the government to know you have precious metals, then a paper trail is something to avoid. A secondary risk is any bad actors within the transaction chain who could theoretically use the information to come and steal your PM. Unless you're buying a LOT, that's a lower risk than the guy who stakes out the LCS and follows people home to pick his burglary/robbery targets. Most such lowlifes are more likely to hang around ATMs, just as there is more risk that someone inside the transaction chain will steal your identity than somehow knock off your house.

9:00 We had the foresight when we bought our house (which needed finishing) to buy a safe from a hotel furniture surplus store. So all my metals are tucked away in a solid safe anchored in concrete - whose key lives in the gun safe. ❤️

For a cheap safe put an exterior grade door on a closet or bedroom and install an electronic deadbolt. It works good & you can have multiple combinations for authorized users. 👍👍

All great points! The only question I would ask is about exit strategy. When I began a few months ago, once I began to understand premiums and spot price, that was my sole focus. In my area (South Austin, Texas) it seems that the local LCS establishments either are elite high capital requirement bullion dealers or places I wouldn't necessarily trust. It seems as though there's no in-between trustworthy LCS places like you and Yankee are fortunate enough to have. Thus, finding a place to eventually sell off some of my stack is going to be a real challenge.

look into selling to an online bullion dealer. typically they have good buy back prices... sometime even higher than what a LCS might pay 🤷🏽‍♂️🔥🐉

I would consider purchasing or selling to the larger companies such as Apmex or US gold bureau. The overhead is usually a bit lower for the transaction.

i've known about people that have stored silver/gold in banks and companies that hold precious metals. it's a dicey thing cause should the company or bank go out of business, the customer can lose the metals to claims from the company or bank. I would always keep your own safe. I 100% agree with silver dragons on that.

Highly unlikely that local coin shops sell fake metals. They are required by law to include a specially signed receipt for every purchase. The shopkeeper doesn't want to get sued because their patron actually checks the authenticity of the metal they bought. This is more a problem with private sellers or handshake deals.

Very helpful comments. I am starting to buy silver Brittania coins in small , affordable amounts , and was encouraged by the way you similarly began . In the U.K. they are legal currency and free from Capital Gains Tax ( I THINK !) . Best wishes .

Thanks, I plan to make my initial junk silver purchase today. I plan to invest at least $150-200 and want to make sure I make the right choice as far as who I buy from. I'll be shopping online bc I live in a pretty remote area but I always research the reputations of online businesses before I spend my $ so I'm hoping it goes well. Is 15x face value pretty acceptable rn? I last heard a junk silver dime ia worth appx. $1.40 so 15x sounds pretty good to me but I know very little of this game. I appreciate the videos!

MD has taxes on less than 1000 purchases :( i remember paying with a credit card for a tube of eagles. So i payed credit fees and taxes at my lcs and it ended up being like 7 over spot. Spot was 16 at the time so im actually in the clear lol

First off, love watching your melting videos. I found you as a recommendation by KZfaq from sreetips a few weeks ago. I decided to make a small purchase last week from an online bullion deal and was surprised to find sales tax. I thought I read the laws right for my state. While I know the tax subject is confusing and complicated, I’m wondering if there are clear definitions on what “bullion” means or if it’s subjective by state. I haven’t found any good KZfaq videos that address these definitions and I think a KZfaq video that directly addresses the universal American definitions used in these “laws” would be super helpful.

it’s different from state to state. some states require you to make a large purchase to not have to pay the sales tax. I don’t pay any sales tax in Oregon 🤷🏽‍♂️🔥🐉

FYI. Watched a video on heavy safes, digital key pads were easy to break into with an earth magnet. 30 seconds is to fast. A much bigger magnet than the one you're using though. I'm looking for a safe for my guns, silver and coins.

One oz at a time is what I did and love it over the 2 months since I started I’ve gathered 34.5 oz of silver and 5.5 grams of gold and a few goldbacks and very much agree with heavy safe lol 😅

Also I think that the ping test app is excellent, costs a few dollars and compliments other testing methods. Many government bullions also have security features such as radial lines and micro engravings

@@SilverDragons47 fake coins are capable of passing the sigma where a ping test can pick up on it No test is completely full proof except for melting it down 😆

Ping test relies on having a GOOD known coin of the SAME type.

Buying silver definetly is an addiction.. with the prices beginning to go up i might start too load up on junk silver

Besides premiums and whatnot, is there any disadvantage to buying generic brand silver? Will pawn shops (for example) only accept JM, Asahi, etc? Or do they buy whatever brand, like Silver Towne and others?
