This video is about 7 THINGS TO DO IN SHANGHAI IN 24 HOURS LAYOVER | Shanghai China. China has a free 72 hour transit visa for flight layovers in major Chinese cities. I had a 22 hour layover in Shanghai (Pudong Airport). Here’s how I made the best use of my time exploring some of Shanghai's top attractions.
Note: As some recall , I lost a lot of China footage early this year. While I was unable to salvage my Beijing layover challenge, I’m glad I got to share Shanghai.

GRRR LAYOVER CHALLENGE: Hey everyone!!! Did you know #China now has FREE 72 hour transit visas for flight layovers in major Chinese cities? I had a 20 hour layover in Shanghai (Pudong Airport). Here’s how I made the best use of my time exploring some of Shanghai's top attractions. Note : As some recall , I lost a lot of China footage early this year. While I was unable to salvage my Beijing layover challenge, I was able to recover some of my Shanghai footage to share!

I will say I like seeing how high rise systems function in different cities, because layouts can vary so much and it tells you a lot about how the city moves. That being said, I only need to do that for ten minutes max to get my fill - along with finding a history book on the area later if I really need it. On to other adventures!

Nice video. This is the first and only video of yours that I have watched so far, and interestingly, it's also the first video of yours that appeared in my feed, given the fact that this video of yours is six years old. Yesterday I watched a video belonging to a young couple in China also for the first time, and that video of theirs was also their first to appear in my feed. However, that video was just one day old when it first appeared in my feed whereas your video was six years old when it appeared in my feed

Oh no. Public transportation is always a risk in that sense, especially if you're traveling during peak traffic. Honolulu has only gotten worse. I'd book at least 45 min- 1 hour to get to the airport here.

Pretty good and frenetic video. I was just in Shanghai last June. I spent 7 days there. I enjoyed it, but it's a really hectic city. One thing that I am still pissed off to this day was falling victim to the gypsy taxi scam at Pudong Airport. A woman wearing a "Airport staff" badge approached me and suckered me into coughing up almost $80 for a "Taxi" ride to my hotel. It was almost 2am when I arrived and my hotel told me I was charged almost triple what a normal taxi would have charged. It was late and I was too tired to argue. I feel really dumb for handing off my money and getting dragged to her booth when I could have avoided her and taken a legit taxi. One of those things your learn I guess. Other than that, it was a good time.

It's so weird. When I was there in Shanghai, I was told that they aren't really allowed to do the street food thing anymore in the really big cities because it makes the cities look dirty. In Beijing, they are supposedly only allowed in one area and have to be licensed.

GRRRLTRAVELER | Christine Kaaloa Yeah... I wish I would've found this area. I love street food, even though sometimes it is not the healthiest nor is it always the most sanitary. Lol. I want to go to Chengdu. I heard it's a mix of Shanghai and Beijing, but with more culture and tradition.

it's easy for others to assume that. Our proud to be an American motto stereotypes us and it's middle America most see vs. the cosmopolitan districts. As a YTer, . I have country wars going on in my videos based on country pride, down to who invented souvlaki (or something like that) or if I've not filmed enough beautiful parts of their city... the hate is ugly. So "we are better" mentality is secretly inherent in every country. As an American but traveler who loves developing countries, I see the pros and cons. Only my two cents. With our new pres, I can't say if it will get better or we're going to go 20 years back. We're country divided at the moment.
@tIanne70
@tIanne70 7 жыл бұрын
GRRRLTRAVELER | Christine Kaaloa I think that it's true to some extent of most countries. I'm from Sydney, Australia. I'm blessed to live in beautiful country. We joke with New Zealand about who invented various things. I guess it is maybe an Australian thing a bit less as we say " in your face" or self promotional as Americans. We are all hoping to get through this adminstration unscathed. Pence is in Sydney today trying to get us to support action against North Korea. That would not go down well with the Australian public getting dragged into that. Keeping everything crossed for Trump to be impeached.
@grrrltraveler

Aussis are known for being laidback country. We're a strongly capitalistic where the loudest voice wins. Our government has turned into a characature of reality shows. Many pray for impeachment but I have a feelng no one will be able to get him out. One can be hopeful tho
