I love my kitten. He’s a fast learner and I’ve taught him several tricks already despite only owning him for 4 days. To train him to stop biting my hand when he gets playful, i hissed at him when he would start biting my hand and just took my hands out and ignored him. At some point, whenever he is about to bite my hand, he just pauses and then goes back to tapping my hands with his paws in a playful manner. He only bites a few rare times now but he’s getting the hang of it.

i do that too but when he gets the zoomies or is just reeaally hyper and playful, he bites everything on sight and usually targets everyones hands

@@yanybanany keep your tabby busy. They love laser lights! But you must watch them or they over stimulate. Watch their breathing let them rest. Also the ball inside the circle where they scratch at the cardboard is an extra then rest. Take care 💞 enjoy your tabby I sure wish I had mine.. her name was cocoa!

I have a 3 month old kitten and she loves to bite me whenever I walk by. One good distraction she loves is the plastic balls with bells, specifically ones she can pick up in her mouth. She’ll be occupied for hours chasing them around which is very entertaining to watch. She loves the laser pointer too but I feel like it’s just a tease. She does sometimes fall asleep in my lap but for the most part is very hyper and crazy.

My daughter's kitten was really going at me until I started to just be still & redirect him with toys and videos for cats. He still gets a little rough now & then, but he's way better with me now. I don't engage him with my hands or feet. And I reward him for good behaviour with soft, gentle pets and chin scratches, and gentle tone of voice. If he starts heating up again, I withdraw my hand and redirect him. Seems to work. My daughter likes the play & engages in it, but the kitten has learned our separate boundaries like they do with their mom and siblings if they were to be together.

I HAVE PLAYFUL TIME EVERYDAY WITH MY CAT, WHERE SHE ATTACKS MY ARM/HAND. IF SHE GETS TOO ROUGH, I JUST TELL HER, NOT THAT HARD. SHE STOPS, LOOKS AT ME, AT THEN GO AT IT AGAIN. L💘VE MY ABBA GIRL😻

Don't forget people with lymphedema. Women who have had glands removed with a mastectomy can't be around a biting or scratching cat. One bite or scratch could lead to permanent and severe swelling of the affected arm. Also, anyone with an autoimmune disease has to be careful around any cat, let alone a bitter or scratcher. Some owners find this behavior cute, but it's really not. (Except for the delicate litter mate bite.)

I've met smart adult cats who realize I don't like biting based on me pulling my hand away when they bite. they stopped trying to bite me shortly after. I wish dogs were as easy to train

I'm not a behaviourist but to get a cat to stop biting you u need do it when the cat is young but if u don't then as it gets older it will get use to biting then it will be harder to stop the cat like the sayin bad habit is easy to form but hard to break.

What do you do when your hands and toes are the only thing they *won't* bite? Shoulders, neck, chin, cheeks, entire arm except hands, entire foot except toes, basically my entire body except hands and toes are his targets. My arms look like I've been theough a war. And he's only three months.

I play with my kitten with my hands and we have lots of fun. To bite, he has to catch my fingers or hand first, and I know how to push on his head, grab his jaw and keep it closed, get my fingers around his chest or neck, or dodge :D

Mine was a little biting paw swiping attacker when she was a kitten and still is but not nearly as often these days but I never scolded her for it because to this day she has never even come close to breaking skin.

Laser pointer is bad. Not only could damage their eye 👁 sight but also they can’t get the satisfaction of catching and biting it!

Laser pointer is my cats very favorite but she only suckers for the first minute then she says that`s to much work and waits for opportune moments to catch the light, she does the same for flying insects ,what goes up must come down so she just tracks them until they are easy to get.

I never discouraged it cuz it've broken her heart...it was only love & play bites and she'd only do it to me; apologize if she got too rough. Just one case tho but im not sayin everyone should let their cats bite away.

Cats are not that trainable. It’s easier to learn what the cat does and doesn’t like.

First of all cats do not respond well to loud voices as they can`t understand unless it`s said at a low tone and second I have never seen a cat that a little pat on the behind didn`t work better than anything else.
