To add to tip four, the life steal passive gift you get from the survivor blood code gives you hp for every enemy you kill reducing Regen use and making it great for exploration.

The hardest thing about this game is the feels.

Go play it like a souls game without companion and try say again that it is easier.

I've got a tip. I used it during my playthrough a couple months ago, and it was really useful. Whenever you're in single player mode, and you're in a new area USE THE CAMERA MODE to explore rooms to find hidden paths, objects, traps and enemies. Then use that intel to create a strategy. While using the camera mode, time stops and you can see stuff you normally couldn't from your character's perspective.

Tip for Greatsword: Just be very aggressive against literally every enemy and they will die

"don't forget about that block button, folks" as I sit here in NG+2 without blocking a single attack in all of my playthroughs

Pro tip for being pro at code vein: use eva as support. Her waifu is too strong and enemies stand in allure.

Pro tip, don't over level early and mid game, the higher your level compared to the level of the enemies in the area your in, the slower you master your gifts

Pro tip, one handed swords are the best boss killers, two handers deal lots of damage to normal enemies and stagger a lot, hailbeard are just strait up amazing and borderline broken, and bayonets are super interesting but hard to boss with I think

Io is *THE* best partner in the game, gameplay *AND* storywise. *PERIOD.*

Dunno if its mentioned here but the blood veil that spawns the blades from the ground can be used from really long distance just hold O and aim with the stick you will see the shadow moving on the floor

I find it interesting that nobody talks about how the thorn type blood vail drain attack can be moved under a targets location most the time the target won't even notice your there till after you have done massive damage good AOE also just hold down drain and use left stick to move void under enemy I think it was like a 20-yard range super OP not good for bosses but really good for trash.

The companions' weapons are not always the best choice, check their stat scaling to confirm. Io's Dammerung consistently falls behind a lot of polearms, because of DEX scaling; it shares the strange position with Obliterator Axe as a STR-leaning polearm (which I begin to question why you wouldn't just use a Hammer/Heavy Axe instead). I guess you can use it to trade off weight for STR scaling against the Obliterator, or purely for preference because it's best girl's weapon. Enduring Crimson's STR and DEX are strange because it's caught between DEX-leaning weapons like Hanemukuro, and STR-leaning weapons like Machete and the Black Saber. Jack's Executioner might not be as powerful numbers-wise as the Black Saber, but it executes those moves significantly faster. Before reaching Jack, I'd say the Hanemukuro and either Broadsword or Lost Broadsword -> Machete would serve you better. Using Queenslayer, a very common class that might use a Sword, I haven't found a need to swap the Machete for Enduring Crimson. There are still good tradeable weapons early on though; Oni Bane is the earliest A-STR greatsword, and certainly the lightest. You might want to swap it out with some of the later boss drops just to fit a weight limit better, but it's a great pair with a Zweihander Fortification for blocking. Brodiaea is the lightest A-DEX Bayonet, and the second lightest Bayonet overall. (Can't really be happy with Libertador though.) Those two are probably the must-haves of the tradeables, and at least Yakumo's (Sake, Brandy, Bugarally Doll) and Mia's (Tea, Herbs) preferred items don't overlap at all. Louis' and Io's points are probably better for chrome anyway. Since I've already brought up stat leans... why would you suggest Prometheus at any point after obtaining Queenslayer, which handles a similar job with better physical stats? I swap back from Queenslayer to Prometheus entirely only if I want to use Eternal Blade Dance. The only other reason I would see if somehow 103 weight is important for your chosen loadout. Gift Mastery deserves more attention. One, you can maintain full speed of mastery if you ensure that the enemies you kill are of the proper level, meaning you will want to withold leveling up specifically to master Gifts. Two, if you want to leave most masteries behind and come back later for the non-essentials, you should do it when you explore the Crypt Spire for the first time to get the Hepheastus and Warrior Vestige fragments; the Hepheastus Blood Code has a passive that speeds up mastery. Blood Spike is a terrible Spike skill to learn first because of enemies being blood-resistant towards the end of the game. If you have DLC, Astrea just gives you Lightning Spike, which is probably the most neutral element to use, otherwise you should learn Flame and Frost Spike and swap accordingly. Stamina Boost is okay, but Jack has an upgraded form of this passive that's about twice as powerful. (Stat) Up skills are fine early on, but their only staying power is to hit stat requirements for equipment or Gifts to have wider access for a Blood Code. Especially if you're using Prometheus, which isn't A in either STR or DEX, why bother? The point of stat scaling in this case is to hit A or S and then use an A-scaling weapon. You're using Enduring Crimson, so... Augmented Regeneration is fine, but you get it so late it's just not as effective as the passive that increases the HP per regeneration. Your unboosted cap for regen (if you find all the items in one run) is 10 uses at +6. Bridge to Glory is fine, but it also has an earlier alternative to also boost attack power, the difference is in the stat requirement. Bridge to Glory is the MND-based one, so it's going to be for caster glass cannons. Revenant's Greed is a great way to farm some key late game drops - you're going to want the Black and Argent weapons for opposing reasons - one has high reqs and high scaling, the other has low reqs and decent scaling. Queen Tungsten drops from the P. Gov't maps and is a great way to do last-minute pre-NG+ prep: equip R.Greed and the gift mastery passive from Murasame, and run through Blood Codes grabbing whatever Gifts you want while treading known ground. Fionn and Scathach Chrome drop a lot, so it's good to prep a fire weapon and an ice weapon for NG+/Depths purposes. If you use Swords, there's a Fire and Ice boss drop for each, if you use Polearms, there's an Impaler Fire drop and an ice boss drop. ...I haven't seen a good reason to use Intensification, since I pick weapons with good base scaling already. They don't seem to benefit too much from Intensification at that point. Better to pick a good-scaling weapon and then give it a status inflict. On Weapon Transformation, again, Zweihander Fortification (Atlas Chrome from Yakumo) gives 100 percent block from all physical damage sources. It's probably the best use of the chrome. Life Steal is nice, but I generally find more use in the one that grants HP when performing a drain, and then pile on the back attacks. It works great for those pesky Trials of Blood. Cleansing Light has a little extra utility: HP sacrifices are also regenerated back. So using Offering skills with Cleansing Light can be a more efficient way to help your companion. Companion choice largely falls on their ability to use support Gifts, in my experience. Yakumo casts Foulblood Barrier, Mia casts Bloodsucking Blades, Io casts casts that regeneration boost support. That makes Mia great for clearing maps of mooks since your Drain stat is raised, and Yakumo/Io are your lifesavers for bosses. Io also uses her more powerful Offering skill, which is a double-edged sword; watch her HP well. Io has multiple ranged Gift attacks, but her physical damage isn't actually higher than other casters (Mia/Eva) - looking at Dammerung she has good STR but lackkluster DEX.

I just got this 2 days ago and I spent one day nowhere to lie just on creating my character I love this game I really do hope they do another one I love the creative system I love the weapons and everything I just wish they added more DLC this game is very good but it could be even greater

If it wasn’t for it’s cool anime art style, the awesome power of being able to sprout blades from your body to skewer your enemies to death, and the fact that this game is part of the God Eater series, I don’t think I’d have played this. I tend to avoid Souls-based games if I’m able. But on instances, I find one before realizing what it is and find myself liking it, such as Hollow Knight or Vigil.

The parry is probably the thing I have the most difficulty with in this game, the timing is just to off compared to most others games I’ve played.

Tip number 3 isn’t fully correct The best weapons for each class are ones acquired lategame The ones in the tip are good till about the last third to a quarter of the game The executioner is an upgrade over the enduring crimson. The zweihander is an upgrade over yakumos sword The final boss greatsword is a further upgrade over the zweihander

You mentioned pretty much almost every passive you need, but the first 2 healing spells also comes from the Cathedral and one of them is the best buff, perfect when you have to kill enemies that one shot and while Bosses are low.

Personally I can't recommend the Queen Slayer weapon series and Night Veil series enough they've kept me going to late game many times and has become critical parts of my builds for most of a characters first play through for Blood Codes I recommend Isis for just about anything for its high stats or Queen Slayer for adaptability

Be sure to complete all of Shang's quests! It unlocks more and more collectables to purchase, though if you want to be lazy about it the blood bead candy nets you three points no matter who you give it to.. and NEVER underestimate the power of your vaccines-- especially the Inhibit and Slow Vaccines.

I entirely rely on the strategy of “Death by 1,000 Paper Cuts.” Lots of stamina, Quick mobility, and knowledge of enemy attack patterns. It actually kinda helps that I play without a companion, because it makes it easier to learn the attack patterns of bosses.

i jus got the blanched greatsword (god eater) and breezed my way thru the game, killing every boss usually on 2nd or 3rd try except the fucking gilded hunter and ornstein and smough

I used that weapon and veil what I find to cool for my characters XD Doesn't care about the stat how bad or not, I'm still on NG3 for the story.

You want a tip to be a pro in Code Vein? Just equip a Zweihander Fortification. Block and wait to smash with it after that.

There is a 2 handed sword and hammer that if transformed to make it heavy you can cap out the physical defense to take no damage on block.

I always pick the GS in any RPG that gives me the choice and I honestly never looked back after getting the Oni Bane, it’s pretty short by GS standards but makes up for it with the faster moveset while maintaining GS levels of damage. Paired it with the Night Fang and I honestly didn’t have much trouble dealing with enemies, just the really hard hitters

If your trying to master a gift from a new blood code, make sure the creatures your fighting are actually advancing your gift, if its not, you can kill all the creatures you want and you won't advance anything on that gift, Im still trying to figure out the guide lines to this as I've noticed gaining levels makes certain area's a waste of time for doing this, Im not sure if its dependent on an area that can give you the materials you need to instantly learn the gift or if its straight based on level, Harder creatures do make mastering the gift faster, Once your able to learn the passive gift to master gifts faster does comes in handy

The thing that hurts me the most is that, you have to sacrifice your true ending to get the revenant's ambition.

i beat the game without parrying even once, but about half of my playing hours was just about circling behind the enemy.

The game was actually pretty easy. I played Offline. The first 3 area, I used Mia ( the white version ) as a companion. I struggle with the Butterfly and the Invading Executioner Boss ( switched Mia to Yakumo to defeat her ). Everything from Cathedral after was a breeze. By the time I finished my 1st playthrough. I ended with lvl 156 and 34 hrs of playtime. I also got the good ending. Now I gotta replay for the other ending

Pro tip use the biggest weapon and block that’s really all you need to know

I just pushed through my first playthrough with only dodge and atk button, gilded hunter forced me to time my dodges perfectly because I needed that stamina reset to keep dodging. I came back recently with somewhat understanding of the game mechanics and Jesus christ I just melted him

Enduring crimson is literally the worst sword in the game, it's stats get outperformed or are on par with the first weapon of its type you get

I wanna recommend getting Coco's Vivification skill, for those who are: exploring, wanna teleport quickly after farming, and teleport out of a fight after retrieving Haze, super useful, there's an item like this but it's late in the game like 3rd of the last area of the game... EDIT: I also wanna point out that each weapon has different weight which affect speed combo, not all weapons will have the same speed of combo and special attacks, for example, the speed of Executioner is not equal to Enduring Crimson and not equal as well to Queenslayer Blade. The button for special attack is R1+Square or RB+X, enduring crimson has a special Triangle/Y attack compared to the previous mentioned.

Same as with dark souls my top tips are: 1.) To hell with honor, fight dirty because all of your enemies here are shameless f*cks who will use every item, ledge and corner gank imaginable. Who the sadistic f*ck places a greatsword or hammer lost right infront of the ledge you're about to enter?!?!?! 2.) Getting killed reduces your ichor to 0, buying an item that prevents you from getting killed just takes a bit of it is a good investment. 3.) Running away is a valid strategy. If you see an enemy on a tempting ledge, or you are about to die, it's okay to run like a b!tch. 4.) Your partners are there. Use them a meathshield, best meatshield is Yakumo and Io. If you have a co op partner. EVEN BETTER!

Whole game easy until you meet random normal enemies who hammer you (crypt spire Knight) or your boi dies, or you meet blade bearer and cannoneer.. Or the boss is a butterfly after the first one or you meet a cupl o poison dogs, or you get lost for 2 hours in cathedral or rust plains or you meet cannoneer again
