I firmly believe that Kota Kinabalu (KK) is one of the most underrated cities in Southeast Asia. A huge reason behind this decision was the incredible food scene.
The city has a chilled-out, relaxed vibe, a waterfront to wander along, and plenty of hipster coffee shops and street art to explore. It’s a fantastic city to base yourself in for a week or two, if not longer. Here's my pick :

We just came back home from Kota Kinabalu. Following your recommendation, we tried a red bean bun at the bakery at Gaya Street. It was super awesome. A red bean bun is also a pretty popular confectionery in my country. The red bean bun in Kota Kinabalu is super beyond my expectation. Please continue to produce helpful videos. Thanks!😄😄😄

Do try the laksa at Kedai Kopi Laksa in Inanam town during your next trip in KK! The broth is thicker and there is even an option to have the laksa with their homemade pan mee. My personal fav.

Welcome to Sabah. Great video. Btw, you were in Shangri-La Tanjung Aru to see the sunset, not Shangri-La Rasa Ria. Rasa Ria is outside of KK city approximately 22 miles away.

Yes you are right, I went to the wrong one in Rasa Ria, but it is still a gem. The beach and sunset there is beautiful as well. There is also another bar there called Sampan Bar, not as nice but we are there for the sunset anyway...

Sabah is not only one of the states where the population is majority Muslim but also the largest Muslim population in Malaysia..Halal food should not be an issue in Sabah
