I have a friend who I grew up with a brilliant friend. Not book smart. Once when we biked, we both wanted to own our business. He said, "When we grow up, I will hire you.", and I reciprocated. So I went off to have an engineering degree. He, in turn, has two high school diplomas and started a business. He hired me as employee number 9. The company now has 1600 employees.

I'm confused. How do you get two hs degrees? Once you graduate hs, that should be it.

@@Valeska687 Regarding "How do you get" Because you can, and/or you feel that you need that education. Education is also for free. It's one of many reasons for paying a lot of tax. Think about that as Denmark's investment in the future of that person. That person will - after education - get a job and pay a lot of tax too. Another person will benefit from that: That they we had gone full circle and all had benefits from paying a lot of tax - now and in the future.

@@charonstyxferryman I was just confused about the 2 high school degrees. Where I'm from, you go to high school once, graduate, then you're done. I understand going to college and getting multiple degrees as well as various types like bachelor's, masters, doctorate and so forth or even going to the library and learning anything from there. It was just the 2 high school diplomas that confused me.

The work culture is excellent across the board -- it's a cultural thing, not a company-specific one. It will also depend on where your managers are from, etc. But do expect that if you work in investing banking, strategy consulting, etc. you'll still work very long hours.

To be honest when you say people dont got long work hours annoys me.. Supermarket people have 8-10 hours a day shifts, same goes for many other places to work. My moms a nurse and gets 17 dollars an hour here in Denmark, which in the US she would get over 28 dollars. She works 8+ hour shifts a day. I know that you are living in copenhagen where for the most part people and figured out a way to live and not work as much but still earn good money. I wouldnt put Copenhagen as a category that defines the rest of Denmark. For me as a Dane in Jutland. Copenhagen is a different world from the rest of Denmark, when it comes to living. When you say things work, it works in Copenhagen. Anyway I know people have different opinions on this topic but for me and many other people that I know, when people talk about Denmark and how great it is, they are really just refering to Copenhagen. Because what foreginer has been outside of Copenhagen? When you leave Copenhagen you leave many things, you leave diversity and more. I have never seen or heard of a foreginer being in Jutland or just any other place than Copenhagen... 99% of all videos on youtube about Denmark, really just shows life pictures from Copenhagen and maybe Aarhus.
@MarioScianHQ
@MarioScianHQ 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I wouldn't want to live in rural Denmark personally. But 8 hours is normal. In many countries by default you work 10-12+ hours regardless of the profession.

Plenty of KZfaq videos with people traveling around other parts of Denmark, among them, a couple from UK decided to stay for a long time in Jutland, when UK closed it's borders due to Covid and had several video showing them traveling up the coast of Jutland. You should get better at searching, instead of close minded complaining. Of course one city does not represent the rest a country - but that goes for all of them. The Greater Copenhagen Area has almost a quarter of the population of Denmark - I would say that's a pretty good portion for a clinical sample. You contradict yourself. You write that you "have never seen or heard of a foreigner being in Jutland or just any other place than Copenhagen." Followed by you writing that "99% of all videos on youtube about Denmark, really just shows life pictures from Copenhagen and maybe Aarhus." ...Aarhus is in Jutland in case you forgot or just didn't know. Also 99% means that you have seen or heard of at least 1% not being in Copenhagen ('at least' because you admitted that the 99% claim you made included Aarhus, which is not in Copenhagen).

I disagree with u. U earn less in jutland but everything also cost a lot less. Working hours is something u decide urself but 37h/w is standart everywhere. Also ur mom is lying about her pay, "min wage" is 155kr/h when having the lowest education and u will get more pay the l more experience u have, normal low pay for nurses is about 180kr/h.

If you have a job as a Night-watchman, you really can't complain about having to work at nights! And being a nurse may lead to many other jobs, also working at daily hours, if wanted. But I suppose your mother has chosen to work as a nurse for a reason? And many nurses only work half time! I couldn't have lived from only working half time, during my time working, so it is a special privilege 😄!

@@enigmaticcreationsart When a refugee come here, they dont contribute with taxes, they get a free education. Thats a fact! A lot of foreign students study here for free, they even take a state garantied loan. When they are educated on the taxpayers money, they go back to there country, but “forget” to pay the loan back. Denmark use a lot of money on foreign students. So before you laugh your ass of. Know what you comment on.😆 I am happy to pay high taxes. In our country everybody have the possibility to make a good life regardless of the parents income.🤗
