When we make our Human trails, we're not the only ones who use them and it makes us easy to target by what lives out there. They know that, eventually, a Human will come along. They know how to find us

I feel safe in New York city....... and the woods are my home. I've had people stumble across my camps and call the forest rangers so much they say they know who and don't even come out.

Pretty much the only thing to target humans on trails is… other humans. Mountain lion and bear attacks where they were lurking on a trail are super super rare. I imagine you could be referring to some creature that doesn’t bother me because it doesn’t exist outside of the internet

These people who go hiking in the woods alone. Just crazy. I know it’s so much easier to plan stuff with yourself. But it’s just too risky especially these unarmed ppl

It's less about hiking and more about being out in nature. Being around the constant buzz of manmade technology is psychologically terrible for us. Studies have shown this. Time in nature is, literally and figuratively, healing.

People say they’re experienced hikers or campers, but then think an inhuman but woman-like scream is some monster… it’s probably a mountain lion; they sound horrifying, and those screams in the stories are pretty spot on descriptions of it. I dunno, a lot of people don’t realize how weird some animals sound. Coyotes can do it too, btw so if you have coyotes in your area and you hear weird noises it’s probably not some specter.

I’m from New York and the words we use have a lot of Dutch influence. For example, we always used the word “stoop” for the stairs in front of our house in Brooklyn (of course, “Brooklyn” is Dutch). The architecture in NY also has Dutch influence- with the main floor of homes often being 3-4 feet above ground level.

For the life of me, I'll never understand why some ppl are idiotic enough to keep looking back when they're being chased? It only slows them down, chances are they're running because there's no way to physically beat their pursuer, and they should be keeping their eyes on the path in front of them especially because of how the forest floor is?

All i've learned from listening to so many of these stories is "listen to women." Women are always the first to notice something is wrong, or off, and the guys around them never listen.

I love these stories, but it's sometimes so deeply annoying to listen to them as a woman. So many of them go like this: Girlfriend/wife/female friend: Something is wrong. We shouldn't be here. Boyfriend/husband/guy friend: Lol you're imagining things. And she's never imagining things. The moral of half these stories is "listen to women." But the men in these stories never do.

Hi, my names Greg, this is my survival story. So In 2013 I went backpacking on the AT. I was about half way through my hike when I spotted a bear ahead of me on the trail, I freaked out, ran into the woods to try and escape. This ended up being the worst thing I could have done as I got lost. After a few nights trying to find my way back I became aware I was being followed, it started with branches snapping and noises outside my tent at night, and then I started to see figures hiding behind trees, one moment I was walking along, and the next I blacked out. I woke up surrounded by animalistic wild people hunched around a campfire.. it turns out they chopped off and were eating my leg… I managed to escape by hopping 74 miles, and now everyone where I live calls me one leg Greg

First story screams fake to me he turned around but kept his eyes on the creature as he moved back? He couldn't get a good look but spends around 2 minutes describing the thing he saw with some of the words used even implying that he saw it well enough to see how it's face looked and even its eye color? Yeah right my guy 😂😂😂😂
