In this video we will go over 7 beautiful "voice leading" examples on a II V I.

This video is wonderfully clear. I really appreciate that you demonstrate these concepts slowly and gradually. Teaching is not about the teacher, it's about the student experience. Question: are you using block cords in this video along the technique of voice leading? I try to understand.

Most examples in this video are based on shell voicings (1-3-7 or 1-7-3) or open voicings (aka spread voicings) (shells + extensions). I usually start on Dm7 with a specific but common voicing and then try to use smooth voice leading to play the rest of the II V I (I also try to create an interesting melody with the topnotes of the voicings). But no block chords in this video (that’s a different topic and sound). I have some tutorials on shell voicings and open voicings on my channel that might be of help. Good luck!
