I like how in scratch you can actually understand lther peoples' codes unlike other stuff.

Scratch actually was my first "programming" experience :) It was back in 2016, and now I'm using Rust with some rendering frameworks :D

Oh man that looked like it took literal weeks to edit. At first I thought this was a joke by the title, but you know what there are some really valid points and think I might learn scratch so I can teach it to my daughter one day.

That is absolutely fantastic! Exactly the feeling i was going for, because there is literally an entire other cut of the video that IS a joke, but after looking into it more I was legitimately blown away by how good it was, so much so I re did everything to hopefully put across exactly what it sounds like you just went through!

Scratch was an amazing starting place for me! But then I started to find it way too limiting so move to Unreal's Blueprints (and then to Unity). However, with what you said about more advanced features (especially collision detection), I think I can really recommend it to people.

Superb edit and a completely valid argument for Scratch. So if it was a fools video then you've torpedoed yourself by making a cast iron case for Scratch!

It WAS a fools video, but as I was making it I realized scratch is actually really quite good now so I changed it up into something that is hopefully helpful!

@@BLANKdev thansk godot is way smoother than i remember idk if any big updates come since 2019 but after using unity and ue4 for a while godot just seems amazing to use

@@Zer0Flash Exactly how I felt when i used it, its just so much faster than anything I had used before and seems to be just as capable for 99% of projects, as for updates I don't know about it's past but Godot 4 is almost here, so its an exciting time to try it out for sure!

It is limited compared to other game engines but it is still a incredibly powerful tool for 2D and even some 3D
