I love getting unloved large illustrated books from various places and making full use of the larger pages - here are 7 ways to use them in journals.

These projects are lovely and so clever. You reminded me that I have a stack of bird themed supplies just waiting to be made into a junk journal. I just love birds and taking a peek inside your treasured books was fun.

Kari, you are so clever and inventive. I also love that you keep things fresh and bring us new ideas. I'd have never thought of making some of these! Thank you so much for sharing. You're very good at explaining and I don't measure things either! 😁Such lovely books, too! I quite envy them. I adore to go to used book stores and thrift shops to find these sorts of treasures. I specifically bought a die to make a small coin envelope to hold gift cards. I used it twice and now, after watching your fabulous video, I do not need to buy anymore dies for envelopes. I can just re-watch your video and grab some paper and make one. So simple! thank you

I knew there was a perfect reason to keep those National Geographic special edition folios. I’m such a fan of maps and they aren’t as plentiful as they used to be. I think a moth stencil might be in order. Totally off topic ~ you have such lovely hands and your manicure is so elegant.

Thanks, yes indeed, these large pages are difficult to use in smaller journals without cutting too much out, a larger journal would be great for them! 💗

Wonderful way to repurpose and saving them from certain death! Why not use?? What's the other option , set on a shelf forever? No enjoyment in that. 've been focused on using up my book pages, so this was perfect timing. Thank you for sharing! I've saved, and I'll have to watch over and over, as my memory stinks! Shame they don't give some books a chance, I've brought vintage books before charity shops were about to throw away, love what you have done lots of different ways xx

Thanks Tracey, I think apart from fairly modern paperbacks, older books don't sell too well, it is a shame, but I do like to give them new life in the form of journals and ephemera (I can never type the word epehera, empemera, ephemera)! 💗💗

So many great ideas! I know what I’m doing this weekend 🙂. Where did you get your paper folder? It’s such a smart idea I have a lot of outdated textbooks that I use in my junk journals. The science and foreign language books are my favorites.
