For anyone who has never owned a dog whatever their age(the owner that is)and would like to then the finest dog you could ever get would be a mini schnauzer.

@@violamaffessanti6559 They are clean. No doggy smells. The black ones do not moult or leave hairs everywhere. They are easily picked up and carried. They have an affectionate temperament and are extremely funny. Every day is a fun time for them. They are loyal and easy to train. Finally very cute to look at and easy to fall for.

@@rodneycooperLMSCoach Many thanks, very useful. I’m considering to get a dog and the mini Schnauzer is the breed I focussed on. I actually literally fell in love with them, so very happy to read your opinion. However, I’m carefully studying all factors as I’d like to take a responsible decision, including the right moment for getting it. One of my main concerns is that I live alone and work full-time in a not dog-welcoming office in normal times. There are dog walkers available in my area, but I’d like to think of that as a situation’s improvement more than its solution (in the dog’s adult life, ofc it could be the solution for its puppy life). I mean, I can’t rely on someone external for a decision that affects my dog’s and my life for the next 12 years. At the same time, should I wait to be 70 and retired to get a dog when I may not be able to run with it? I guess I wouldn’t be the only person with a full-time job and a dog. So, the question is: would you confirm what I read around about Mini Schnauzers dealing well with staying alone, so not suffering much/at all of separation anxiety? What do you think about this situation? Are there other solutions that I may not have thought of? (e.g. I’ve seen videocameras to connect to the dog while at work, evt spitting out treats, toys throwing a ball put at the paw’s touch, etc. obviously it’s not as valuable as human presence, but probably they still entertain and reduce boredom). Sorry for the long question, but I hope to receive a constructive answer, as it’d help reading a more personal opinion from an owner rather than just a breed’s description. Thank you in advance.
@rodneycooperLMSCoach3 жыл бұрын
@@violamaffessanti6559 In my opinion having owned with my partner a dear little female Schnauzer for the past three years we could never advise anyone to leave them (or any other breed for that matter) alone in a house or flat. They are sociable animals and need their owners company. As we are self employed it is easy for us but we take ours everywhere we go and even more so with dog thefts on the rise. If left alone they become extremely bored and start biting the furniture,skirting board,table legs anything they can get hold of. In your situation I would only be happy if I could hand the dog over to a trusted friend, neighbour or relative who could look after them all day each day. Sorry to not be more positive but it is all about the animals happiness and I can vouch for the fact that it does show on mini schnauzers.

@@phillippasteur3904 Definitely too early. It’s not just about eating, it’s about learning from mom and siblings how to be a dog. It’s only “fine” if they are rescued, but a responsible breeder would never let a puppy go before 8 weeks. 10 weeks is awesome.
