7 years of SDVX progress (2015-2022)

2014 footage doesn't exist, but i started around october 2014. I struggled on booths like everyone else at some point
common Q&A's below:
why are "converts" being played in the video?
prior to 2017, sdvx was not easily accessible in the west. the only arcades that did have sdvx were round1, which were 6 hours away at the time. it was impractical at the time to do that kind of travel, and i do not play converts anymore unless it's for practice purposes.
why is there no footage prior to 2015?
never had the means to record my footage until 2015 when i got a webcam to record plays. i started in around late 2014.
what controller are you using currently?
yuancon black model, sanwa buttons (green and white), 50/50g spring/switches. i have no other modifications to my controller.

This is honestly so inspiring to watch. I often get upset at how bad I am as a player but I should instead just enjoy my journey.

It's beautiful watching this progress, as someone who started in April of 2021 and didn't get a controller and play the pc cloud ver till Nov of 2021. I remember starting there and struggle so much on 13s and now 15s and 16s are my medium range if skill. Im not at the point when I can say I'm at 17s since they still give me trouble from my motor issues but I'm getting there. It will be a harder climb for me. But happy how progress been. You keep it up with everything you been doing watching your videos and scoring PUCs and progress. Seeing stuff helps me feel better with my slow climb ^^

I honestly can't wait for my sdvx controller to come in, I got into the game around 3 months ago but started grinding as much as I could with keyboard, though I'm prob gonna have a struggle like adapting to the controller I'm glad I installed the usdvxc so I could practice, get up to speed with my current skill on keyboard, and exceed the skill I currently have.

What was your revelation that let you break through the "nerves wall" for PUCing harder charts, I really struggle with keeping puc runs on 18s and often mess up near the end cause I'm basically shaking.

the motivation to 21 vf. it also helped to go back and puc a lot of 16/17s to improve timing

I started getting into this game maybe three days ago and I can play about 10-13 stuff. This game is very unique and fun to me so I'm definitely gonna keep playing this

Ok, I'm going to say that I'm admiting, that it requires mutch dedication My SDVX progress: lvl 14-15 clears with normal guage on keyboard I try to find some of the KSM custom packs to play, because it think that variety matters (I play on KSM) Not downloading convers, well, because I'm (add deepfry) built different I think I would recommend the ZODIAC12 and Aim shoot revolution, because they have variety, as well as easy setup, just unpack, plop it in, and play! (Some of the packs, I had to fiddle with some song folders because of character corruption)

The fact I started at 12s at my start, July 2021, and now completed 4 20s in the span of that time is fucking amazing! I wanna continue to grow and hopefully look back like you did and just be amazed at how far I've come

7 years of sdvx progress, it need 7 years ;-; btw, any suggestion for pass "hard stuck" skill? I've played sdvx since 2017 and I got hard stuck at 18-19 from mid 2018. in 2021 I can barely clear AAA+/ S 18s and only got 4 AAA 19s (growth memories, last resort, elemental creation and xross infection). i do have controller before, but it broken at 2019. so I just play at arcade on Sunday each week. btw, I play KSM and USC with keyboard. what is your opinion? is playing with the keyboard help me to pass the barrier or do I need a controller?

Have you ever had issues with your controller “misfiring” (dropping inputs or double tapping randomly) over the years? How do you address those issues for the controller?

the only depressing thing about this is that your "start" is already much higher than what I can do after 3 months of playing 😢but I guess that's also because you didn't have video footage of your initial year of playing I suppose. Hope I can get to 15s by next June.

bro, from your first 2015 i see you already got your own controller, but did that have broken yet or have some repair or it lasting until now ? I'm also starting at 2017 but only playing at arcade and so rarely to do that, but i just managed to achieve lv19 AAA at least now becuz some arcade never being repaired and brick to certain pattern

i've been through probably 4 controllers within the past 7 years. svse5, virgoo turbocharger, yuancon white model and now black model. svse5 had a wooden base and eventually it was dropped by accident and broke. virgoo stopped working and their company disappear randomly years ago. the white yuancon i just gutted because the pcb was outdated. playing at arcade is very spotty because of machine condition, but lvl 19 aaa's for 5 years of progress sounds very fine

What difficulty were you able to play first on controller? for me I started off as a keyboard player who can currently do 16-17 and on machines i can do 14-15 my first time ever using one so im curious to know if im somehow just beginner skilled.

probably like 13-14's? i never really played on kb, always was on controller. progressing way back then was weird cause the scale was only 1-16 instead of 1-20. if you've played any other rhythm games, your skill should transfer in some areas for the most part

I can play up to 15's relatively comfortably and some 16's but I don't think I've been able to uc literally anything, even the really low level charts lmao
