I think I've figured out part of why I enjoy your content so much. It has the feeling of those channels with the "wild natural living" vibe of hand-crafting little houses and shelters, but you integrate technology. However, you use technology that most people would write off as junk, very patiently repair and restore it, and put it back to work- in the process, doing a fantastic job of whatever you set out to do. Incredibly satisfying and relaxing, and I'm always amazed by how quickly you get ancient rust back to work. Love this channel.

Hi Mart from the Capital. As a teenager in the 50s i worked for Craddocks Transport at Westport, where i cut my teeth learning to drive Fords, Chevrolets and Austin trucks, all crash boxes. We had a front bucket loader, Fordson tractor which was mean't to be used for bulk loads such as gravel, sand etc. Much the same vintage as your DB tractor. The problem was, the Fordson was always breaking down, so yes you guessed it, when someone wanted 3 yards of sand, we shovelled it on. I was about 17yo and often had blisters on my hands in those days. LOL. We also filled sacks with coal for delivery at the hopper down at the wharf. I was just a boy, and one guy i worked with used to abuse me for not holding the sack open correctly while he was filling it. He later became a NZ Police Constable. I often wondered how he managed to get into the Police Force. LOL. Bob. LH.

Hello friend from Queensland - you are right. We are so used to seeing massive modern machines shifting meters of gravel at a time, that the little DB 30 with FEL looks like a hydraulic porridge spoon. That old DB is a great little unit! Nice to see you don't rattle gun the back end out of everything, 99% of people would have put the rattle gun on that bolt. It's a shocking way to do things got to replace 2 wheel studs on the misso's Subaru after a "mechanic" striped them, and that's the second time I've had to replace a wheel studs in recent years because someone who should no better has buggered them through auto motive abuses, you've got to show things a bit of love especially if you want them to last

Isn't it amazing how many people don't appreciate wonderful old machinery, yet I always marvel that in the day this was state of the art, and like you have shown they are still as serious a tool as they were in their youth? Yet they give so much and ask so little? I find myself that I cannot help smiling when old girls like this ticking away like a sewing machine. Great video as usual and inspiring to see classics still working rather than classics put on a shelf where no one sees them work. What ratio do you mix your diesel out to? we used to just spray straight diesel and them work them dusty and never wash them again and it's amazing how much diesel will protect under that film and it was easy to reapply when you did your maintenance and cheap as I love the patina it gives I look forward to your next work adventure. Keep the dream Alive Brother

Not the rich west coast Holly-Weird-Crowd that has moved in down in the Whitefish / Bigfork area. None around here because it’s much to rural for them. Because there isn’t much in the way of infrastructure. No Big stores, Fast food or any restaurants. This area is considered extremely, Remote. Grizzlies / Wolves out-number people. And I’m dead seriously serious.
