LOJ Conversions needed something that showed the scale of their engine swaps and conversion business, and this twin turbo, LS, AWD, stick-shift Nissan Frontier turned out to be the perfect candidate. Give Bisimoto a 2001-2003 4.0 V8 Oldsmobile Aurora, and he'll build something that'll make people want to search for Oldsmobile Auroras to modify them. I got my license in one of those, and I hate that it's such an underrated car. Yeah the design of the front bumper isn't exactly an attractive design, but drive a fully loaded one with the V8 ONCE and you'll quickly forgive how ugly the front bumper is when you see how nice the rest of the car is.

Nissan's the only jdm company that left besides Honda to care about enthusiasm. And the olds 4.0 v8 as back in the day most people i know... knew that was a racing motor.. Old news

For those wondering about the transfer case, I know about this. I bet the case is from an early 2000s Trailblazer making it a NV149. Those do not need any electronics to make them work and are good for AWD projects. They have a torsion coupler on the front output. Torque split is 38/62 front/ rear. When he talked about having to enlarge the input gear on it to fit the larger shaft. Stock 149 has a rather small 27 spline input as it was used behind the 4L60E transmission. To use behind anything different or larger that female splined input needs to be modified. One thing many will do is to have the gear bored out and re-splined to fit a larger 32 spline shaft from a 4L80E transmission. Not sure what exactly is used in the Corvette style output shaft so I do not know the specs there. I know of exactly one shop that will do this mod to the 149 input gear. I guess seeing as this man did it at his own shop that now makes 2.

Probably could do the entire driveline in the LS for what it takes to get a VK to handle anything more than say 500whp

@@jeffreymceloryjr4155 they come from the factory with over 400 hp so idk seems within reach. Tuners in Australia and New Zealand use the VK for motor sports so there’s some resources, obviously not as much as the ls.

Pretty unique. Cheaper build that bolts in would be the VK56 Titan swap. Pathfinder rear for the IRS. Keeping it rwd would also keep costs down.

Uhhh the VK56 is a complicated DOHC engine from the factory with little aftermarket support...newer ones are direct injection even.....why put all that work in then limit yourself to an engine you cant really do much with?

@@88mphs IKR! I honestly think Nismo would do it. I just think Nissan wouldn't allow them to. A yut style high HP truck would be sweet. A 6x6 Titan with a swapped in diesel from a Patrol. Maybe even a semi frame exposed electric truck or one with a VR38 with the awd system and trans. They need to bring excitement to their truck segment
