No sideways passing for the sake of it. No stupid stats. Proper football.

I grew up listening to Hugh Johns on ITV in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and miss it so much. He made every game exciting, and according to the great man himself, he modeled his broadcast style after the legendary Kenneth Wolstenholme. Two brilliant men.

A seventies midland derby game, great kits and Hugh Johns commentating. What's to dislike?

Interesting to see just how many in the Molineux Street Stand donned a collar and tie [3:41] to go to the match. From a time when a South Bank season ticket would set you back less than a tenner. Those certainly were the days, my friend.

I was at this match - can still remember that it was a bitterly cold day but we won against the eventual champions

Richards, Dougan and Wagstaffe up top. Defenders nightmare.

The first tackle would probably be a sending off offence today!

Also at 4.14 ball goes for a throw, it’s weird how many people in the crowd have collars and ties !

A great Wolves side although very inconsistent. But think the present team are at least on par

John Richards very early on. Hibbett classy, Knowles lost already (sob) to the soddin' Johos. North bank was made of wood. The soft end, where you could take the kids if they didn't want to go in the seats, which were for sissies. Saw the Man U game we won 1-0 from the bottom of the NB. We were 13, more than old enough to go on our own. Packed to well over. "Give us a quid and jump over, mate!" at the baggies, seem to remember they were more strict at Molynieux, or we hadn't sussed it yet. Somehow they all got in. "North Bank, North Bank give us a song...!" South bank was where it was at, we were soon to discover. There was friendly fire in the South Bank to contend with. "Sorry mate, I've just pissed all down your back!"...

Haha, they had bent turnstile operators right up to the 1980s. Me and a mate arrived late and the geezer was cashing up. He told us just to jump over. It was on the South Bank. A copper nabbed us though. The bloke was a bit red-faced for being caught.

Bad Hector miss - Clough must have been furious. Funny how the commentator says - the winner came in the 2nd half - must have been annoying for those who did not know the result.

I remember clearly watching the match on Star Soccer on Sunday and obviously knew the result but I was still certain Hector was going to score !

This is nostalgic, but the football is pretty low quality. Most of these guys are not good enough for a Championship side.

Different time, different players,a lot more exciting then !
