Hello Zangah, thanks for your reply .. I am trying to hook it up through my android, I tried with 4 different programs, the last one seems to be working better (AJT) at least it recognises the phone the other ones always said "Invalid ID" this one, AJT, now says "offline", i hooked it up to my wireless router. Not sure what you mean "Port forwarding"? Thanks for your help, I bought the camera a months ago and it's been driving me crazy trying to make it work, which should be a very simple process according the the videos i have been watching.

Depending of the real manufacturer of the camera the Android apps differ majorly. Did the camera had an included cd / dvd disk ? It usually contains a apk specially made for your camera. A good software that is able to connect to most of existing camera is called "IP Cam View" (Lite or PRO). Also you need to setup port forwarding first if you want to connect with a mobile phone / from the internet to the camera. Without port forwarding setup you will only be able to access the camera directly from a PC that is part of the same network that your camera is connected to.

+damen You need to connect the cable first to configure the camera so it will join your wireless network (select the SSID and password). After that you can disconnect the cable and the camera will work wireless.

+Kali chimrian yes, you can use multiple cams with the same router, you just need to set each camera with a different ip and a different port so you will have access to each of them.

Depends on the camera, some of them need port forwarding from the router setup for the camera to be accessible from the internet. There are a lot of things to try and test, what model of camera do you exactly have ?

Thank you so much for where the reset button was located. a button hard-to-find. I tried over 20 apps on my iPhone not one single one works correctly any recommendations. I've also tried 10 or 15 different app on my Samsung Galaxy five as well phone not any of those were all the same thing off-line or invalid. Yes it did come with a cd unfortunately its a small cd that can't be inserted to a mac cause it wont be retrievable, can you tell me how to do it without the cd??

The easiest way it will be to find someone with a laptop / normal optical drive and to help you with a back-up of the disk to an usb drive. Another software that you could try if your camera has a printed QR code on it is called HV CAM. It will automate the setup by scanning the code, but your camera must be made by HVCAM company to work.

+Mrs Chhangte Chhangte Check camera's IP to be in the same class and WiFi password and encryption. Also check the router to not have some MAC filtering enabled and a visible SSID.

hi, I haver this same camera, 2 of them. My questions, I never had a problem with these, i lov e them! I got a cellspot router from Tmobile and hooked it up to my dsl router, ATT, and it started working funny off and on ever since i was away from home trying to look on my android phone wirelessly. It says connection timeout or offline. So I got rid of the cellspot router, because i didnt like it anyways, and reset everything the cameras, router..my phone...and STILL have the same issue. Is there anything I can do?? This is really irritating. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's possible. You can use the internal alarm relay, but for increased electrical safety another relay should be used in conjunction with the internal one which has low rating (2A only and low voltage). Just wire the internal relay with a 5 /12V volt power supply and a bigger rating relay (220V / 16A), that way you can control anything regardless of voltage / power.

You need to set up a FTP server first with user and password, test it first from a PC and see if you can access it and have writing rights.

+TJ McKinney Yes it has real 720p resolution, but due to high compression the general image quality is not so great. I may approximate with a 600tvl, and when you zoom in the details it looks similar to a 800tvl. For better image quality i recommend you the flowing two models: 1080 IpCam: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g7Z8gNSmx62npqc.html and also the Foscam C1 which is not PT(Z) but has much better 720P quality: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ftyInMKiltfQkZs.html

ok, i need an ip camera with the ethernet cable, but all of the cameras i find on ebay with 1200tvl are bnc. should i get a bnc to ethernet cable adapter so i can use this 1200tvl? i'm trying to get it cheaper than just buying an HD with ethernet

+TJ McKinney The BNC to Ethernet adapter is called "balun". It's just a converter from coax to UPT for cheaper and longer cabling. It still uses analog CCTV signals. If you need an Ethernet / IP camera with hi resolution then try to look at a 1080p Full HD model.

+damen Depends on your model, mine is only G compatible but has WPA2 security. My router is configured with G/N compatibility so all devices function.

damen You need to connect the ip camera with a lan cable first, access it's built in page and there configure first the WiFi settings, you will need to enter your WiFi's password and after that you can your the mobile app.

If i understand you correctly, you want to connect to this camera which is placed at ~ 1 km distance ? There are mainly 3 modes you can do this. Using wireless bridges / repeaters, using lan/ip extenders which are known to work even 6 km. Or connect the camera to a 3G Router with a cellular data connection.

+Jamaine Hemmings i would give it a 7. Dark performance is good but the LED have a very narrow angle (20 degrees) thus only lightning a spot instead of a larger area

+RT Rey it should have an admin / pass next to the ID. If only it says admin that can be the user and the pass, also try with no password.

You need to enable motion detection from the camera's menu. Also the recording is stored on the sd card. If your camera does not have an sd slot then you need to setup a ftp server on which it will upload files.

You can configure and test it directly with a laptop / desktop computer using a LAN cable. To use the wireless connection you need a router.

Depends on the model and producer, there are some real 720p cameras, see my newer videos, they are real 720p and have very good image. Maybe i'll upload a saved file from it taken in VGA (640X480) and in 720p (1280x720P).

Reinstall the app and when you start it be sure to allow full access. Also check in the phones app permission that you are not blocking it. Also be sure you are using the exact app for your camera model.

The camera has FTP and email alerts so I don't needed additional software for it. Newer models have micro sd cards and store the files locally and with the web interface you have full access to all camera features.

It's called "HVCAM", probably a copy of a clone :) It has motion detection and it sends a picture to email or uploads it to a FTP server.

@TechTronic9000 , on the forwarded email , is image an attachment or simply indicating the link of image? if it is an attachment i think HVCAM will work on www.motiondetectplus.com. Motion Detect Plus is able to display those send images in gallery view so its easier to check them. Also the forward to FB messenger is very useful specially for FB frequent user like me. iam get notified instantly whenever cam is alerted.
