During yesterdays RACE1000 I have filmed a battle between a modified BMW 325i E30 Turbo with 725HP against a Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4! This is a 1/2 Mile straight (804 meters) drag race! I hope you enjoy the video.

I know what the speed shows, my question is... If both launch at same instance. How can the BMW be going faster yet be far behind at same time? Or vice versa how can the lambo be way ahead yet going slower?

TheLegendBroly SS if the lambo reached its top speed earlier in time (but not in distance) because of a better start or better traction , the bmw had more time and distance to do a higher speed

Why need camera there? The result shown in starting point display.. This race is not about who first reach the finishing line. This is about who get higher speed in finishing line.. there is only speedcam on finishing line.

I mean there's not a lot to it with a lambo. Prior to the event, everything is pretty well dialed, professionally calibrated and ready to launch at any red light. The car does the rest..especially in half mile racing Speaking from experience, my car will drag both of them on just my everyday commuter file, and I literally don't have to do shit but use the right tire pressures and press the gas lol.

i doubt he was using launch control he probably just knew what he was doing. from what i have heard F1 cars dont have launch control but if they are launched wrong they trash their engines. i have also heard that if you dont launch them correctly they shut off before you damage the engine......

@@jpmking9635 He definitely used launch control, no other way to launch like that in a Lamborghini! I've driven more than a few models over the years and I'm a quarter mile driver. If he was driving that without launch control, I'd be extremely impressed. Hope your all having a great holidays.

I would definitely enjoy drag racing if I could see different views of the cars transitions down the track. The 325’s transition looked interesting from the rear, but imagine what we could see if there were several cameras showing us the approaching cars all the way to the finish line?

So if he held that top speed for one second, and then blew his engine, he wins? That makes no sense at all. It’s all about who crosses the finish line first. The Lamborghini was at the finish line before the BMW got his car straight on the road. Racing is ALWAYS about crossing the line first. That’s the definition of a race. Top speed is a contest completely different. That’s not racing.

In others video's a Lambo needs about 14.9 seconds to get to 262 kph, here between green lights and brake lights of the Lambo it was 18.6 seconds. I think they both won in a different category :-)

If it’s all about winning by Top speed, there’s no need to line up as a race with lights etc. whoever is ready just go and measure it. With this setup as a drag race, so it must be finishing line first as winner.

Apparently this race was about having the highest top speed, not the fastest finishing time. At the end you can see the top speeds and the BMW won.

cvdzijden: Don't know where you are coming from.....a 1/2 mile drag race is ALL about time. Top speed --- and losing the race doesn’t make you a winner. If top speed was the factor...then why even have them racing against each other? If that were the criteria then they should just start from the line when they wanted ---- a green light would be irrelevant!
