做咗Woolworths成10幾年，通常由casual做起。幾經轉折先去到full-time position個average九萬幾計埋所有position。大部份員工都係大概$53,000年薪。

Woolworths basic rate is about $25/hr (= minimum rate), more if casual. Weekend/after hours also more. Usually rate for a casual to get full 38 hours/ wk because they will want the worker to convert to contract to save money.

Most staff at Coles aren't full time. Most of them are only casual. They might only get a 3 hours shift a week sometimes. Part-time contract is 10 hrs/week. They might get more hours per week sometimes. I work at Coles in Cairns since 2008. I get paid $23.90/hr as a part time team member. I will get $29.87 only if after 6pm or all day Sat. Coles usually roster junior staff on Sun as their pay rate is much cheaper. For woolies, the hourly rate you mention sounds like it is causal rate, our casual rate at Coles is $35.85/hour.

You all provided salary is before tax, after tax should paid $5,092 plus 32.5 cents for each $1 over $45,000

Thanks for sharing. I do agree that it is not hard to land an income arrangement, I would not use job as those arrangements do not provide job security & career development etc. For the rewards, it is sort of misleading as Oz IR rewards is a bit more complicated than hourly rate. Most rates mentioned are casual base which have 25% loading built-in and they will not get 40-hour week roster. Also we need to compare other terms and conditions if we want a fair analysis on the offering.

Rate different between night shift and day shift ,penalty pays working on weekend and holiday may be paid double or triple..but the rate is before tax..

大部份工種開始是由最低工資約時薪$20,仲有分長工,兼職或散工(臨時),我有朋友男仕入職多做非技術勞力員工,而女仕多做清潔或售貨員,但有在職人仕回報很多低層工

You cannot compare the income from Australia and assumed that expenses in HK. You need compare apple to apple. Some expenses are higher than in HK.

Thank you for your finding. May I share my case to you guys? I migrated to Sydney around 3 years ago. Around one month time, I got the fulltime job. When I worked in Australia, I would conclude that the most difficulty task is the cultural matter with other colleagues. You know that the workplace in Australia is really the multicultural environment! Everyone, please properly tackle this matter!

人望高處在澳洲及英倫等地不是金科王律. 香港人在香港不願意做嘅低端工作, 甚至向親朋戚友也不好意思提及, 但一去到外地就飛撲去擁抱. 奇怪嗎？

大家注意通常請都是稅前收入,而澳洲入息個人免稅額是每$18200,大多數兩週出糧一次而顧主亦先扣稅,亦高薪愈比得多,所以有人不願立太高稅,因是累進制由最以19%起至最高的45%每次出糧先納稅(因而好聽是工作有時,或甚令人不積極揾錢養懶人),針無兩頭利,香港稅低多催向積極揾錢😀

Hi Chi Wai Ip, 你說得十分明白，有人說養懶人，也有人說是生活平𧗾。澳洲地大人疏，公共開支相對大，福利也高（雖然我們這一家享受不到太多）所以稅率也較高。高累進稅制也是財富平均的一種方法，雖然我明白大富豪有更高明方法付更少的稅。

blue collar workers (tradesman) are highly sought after in Australia, but must get the right qualification before can work, eg electrician, plumber, carpenter etc
