I used to live in the flight path of the Miramar base and when the jets, yes fighter jets, would take off starting around 8 am on a Saturday it sucked. That’s when I started using earplugs. It made me appreciate how fast those suckers are though. Really, really incredible.

Bro I was literally walking down that street in SD a few months ago, couldn't believe how good the views of the planes and airport were. Couldn't imagine living near there tho lol

WAY MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE NICEST MIDWEST AREA ....THAT'S CALIFORNIA ...I KNOW THIS AIRPORT WELL . MY SISTERS' MOTHER IN LAWS BOYFRIEND WAS MAURICE BUD MCDONALD AND I USE TO HANG OUT WITH HIM AT THIS AIRPORT AS A KID IN THE LATE 1970'S . HE WAS THE G.M. AT THE AIRPORT AND WAS A GREAT MAN

I noticed the 747 arriving in SD a few weeks ago. I thought that the runway here was too short for fully loaded and fueled take off?

You’re right about the runway but the British Airways compensates this issue by not loading the whole plane.

@@EvolutionRider88 Airlines don't often fully load their planes. Adding more fuel increases the weight of the aircraft, which in turn increases fuel burn. Also, after 9/11, the FAA has limited the number of unnecessarily full planes crossing the US

The runway at the San Diego airport is a joke. The 8th largest city in the United States and there's only ONE runway at the airport! I remember going to friend's house years ago and the planes flying into the airport made so much noise it was unnerving. This video is very good, though.
