He came back to the states after the war and married his wife who passed away in 2015. She waited for him in France for five years after he left for duty and returned to his home but eventually got married herself but her husband passed 30 years ago. She had five kids as well. They never forgot each other. Mr. Robbins only speaks English, while Mrs. Ganaye only speaks French. They communicate through their love it’s so beautiful. Even though he went back to the states I read there’s many ppl working to keep them in touch. Got them computers and they can video chat with each other and ppl are also funding their trips to see each other again. I cried a lot while watching this. I just wish & hope they could pass on together... 🙏🏼❤️❤️

I once met a Swedish girl in a small town in Sweden whilst I was passing through. I was 20, she was 18. I was only supposed to be in the town overnight because snow had cancelled the last train to Stockholm but when I met her in a bar that night I ended up staying there for a couple of weeks. Eventually I had to leave and return home to continue my studies, I was only in Europe for a backpacking holiday and every place I'd planned to see after Sweden I ended up missing. That was nearly 20 years ago now. About 10 years ago I found her on social media and she has a family, so I never reached out. I still haven't gotten married - I guess every girl I met after her just didn't stack up. I didn't end up following the career path I studied for and am full of regret for not trying to make more of an effort to see her again earlier. Life's so short. If you ever meet that special someone, don't let them slip away. It's regret you'll live with your entire life.

My uncle fought in WWII. He died shortly after returning to America in 1945. His best friend who had fought with him in WWII him married his widow, my aunt. After my aunt died of cancer, he traveled back to France to find the love he had had before his marriage to my aunt. They found each other and were married. They lived many years together. Today they have both gone on to their eternal rewards. But, I always think of it as a true love story...

This is amazing and heart breaking, I'm so glad they got to see each other one last time, I couldn't imagine the emotion and tears. My grandfather was on the Missouri during world war ii and was in Korea and Vietnam,he passed away two years ago, he became a warrant officer in the Navy and retired from the Navy, he had a room with pictures in order beginning when he was drafted, to his enlistment and through his career, there was a picture of him and other officers in Japan with women and they were all laughing and were so young, I asked him who the woman was hugging him and smiling and he said she was the love of his life and he asked her parents if he could marry her and they said no, after his time stationed in Japan he had to leave and he said he never saw her again but will never forget her.

I had a patient once... 80+ year old, on his deathbed. His daughter told me his story: when he was 18, met this girl in high school, loved her so much. But her mom, right after high school graduation moved to West Coast and took her daughter with her, send him back the ring he gave his girlfriend. Broke his heart... but he got over it, met another girl, got married, had 4 girls. His wife died when he was in his 70s, and out of boredom he decided to attend his high school reunion. And there she was... came from California to Illinois to attend that event, secretly hoping for meeting him once again... ever since then they have been dating, long distance. Daughter who was with him that night told me: I've never seen my dad giggle so much as he was doing with her!Unfortunately, he became very ill and she couldn't fly to see him at the time when he became sick. The night when I arrived to see him, he was dying. I've asked one of the daughters to dial the number of his girlfriend and she was the one to bid him farewell, when he was taking his last breaths ( ok, I'm still crying even though it's been a few years back). True love lasts forever.
