Thanks for sharing this 2nd interview with Barbara and Richard. Regarding family lore that gets passed down over the generations, I have many examples of that from my own family history that have been debunked as I have researched the actual document paper trail, such as census records, ancestral research, etc. I have found that a big chunk of them were completely incorrect, while there were some with a grain of truth but mostly incorrect. A few were partially correct, but actually applied to a different ancestral line. The most reliable ones, which tended to be correct, were those that were stories from either my parents' generation or else my grandparents' generation. Generally, the further back the story was, the less reliable it was. That makes sense as the more generations it passes through, the more likely it will get embellished and changed over time. I believe that family folklore needs to be taken with a grain of salt, unless it was very well documented with actual written biographies from trustworthy 1st hand accounts.
