Thank you very much @raychan9926 for the work you guys did on the Legato! Enjoying the Legato as i am typing this. The first time i put it in my ears, it immediately took me back to that time when hi-fi box speakers was the thing. The first thing that came to mind was those expensive Kenwood box speakers in my friend's house that we would be playing music through whenever we hung out at their place.

@raychan9926 Sir, have you considered building on the success of the Legato and maybe doing an upgrade to it in the future? This time a triple dynamic driver version(12mm + 10mm + 6), and with the dedicated subwoofer that can be turned on and off? ...plus "Surround Sound" tuning this time, as well? 😁

To answer your question, we must first understand what are the limitations of an IEM, especially DD IEMs and that is space... You see, the reason why Legato is on the chonky side is because we allocate space for both drivers to breathe, lots of space in fact. If we add another DD to the equation, the physical size of the IEM will definitely have to increase also. And that will make wearing uncomfortable. Some folks may even have fit issue. However, to have 3 drivers is not impossible. But one of the drivers will have to be replaced with either BA and Piezo. This will definitely change the sound profile of Legato, which for better or worse, is something Ray and I will have to experiment.

So well done. Thank you for bringing this tuning to the masses for such a great price and value. This is more Timeless than the Timeless!

Hi David great news, here is a wierd thing to say but if you use Moondrop Spring Tips it actually reduces the bass because the flange is softer allowed some leakage. Makes the Legato more balanced. Otherwise my favorite tips were the JVC Spiral Dots. Cheers TDM

Buy a EPZ TP20 dongle and a KZ Castor Bass and you will have better sound with both.

@@tonedeafmonk thanks really appreciate the suggestions, I really love the castor bass. The tp20 is really tempting for its price, but the ua4 is still splitting my decision for its sale price😅. I could also get the fiio ka11 with that big power output but its only single ended and no independed volume. The volume buttons on my phone is broken so a dongle is what i need first. Now I need a tie breaker whether the tp20(balanced sounding) or the ua4 (more analytical sound)

@choydeliverer7162 The TP50 is even better sounding has some great filters and a circuit to make it more analog, slightly warm but quite resolving little dongle. But I do love my UP5 with the volume wheel

Might be faster but not the same output. A larger driver will move more air = more bass. Lots of factors so no hard and fast rule. Materials , Enclosure , xover all play a part. I hear some people not liking the Legato but I but they don't have source power to drive properly.
