I shoot hornady sst 162 in my 7 rem mag , 69 gn h1000 getting around 3000 fps. I had some Berger 150s loaded with imr 8133 and get 3200 fps on those.

Jason - lol at least you're honest, I wouldn't have the guts to post my flinch video on here! I had to laugh at myself when I saw yours, I know the feeling of that Weatherby jab all too well. Great video, good to see you finally posted one with your 7mm. I bought a Ruger Mark II M77 stainless synthetic 338 Win Mag for elk this fall, shooting 250 grain partitions out of it and it kicks nowhere NEAR as hard as my 7mm does. Nice lookin' rifle you have there, too!

I can get 3050 fps with 160 grain bullets and 2950 fps with Barnes X with my 7rem mag. You can easily achieve more than that with your Mark V

Are you shooting for yourself? Then why did you record the video? You have to zoom in on the target to find out where the bullet hit

Try Increasing the freebore, a lot of weatherby groups tighten up.

Actually I might play with seating depth next. The ammo needs to cycle well tho so I'm not going to get too crazy. Thanks for watching.

Update the accuracy was better after the seating depth was changed

The Reloading books are conservative. In my Weatherby Mark 5's I Start two or three grades above their maximum. Never busted a primer. I've done this for forty years. The Mark 5 action was tested to 200,000 psI. Never locked a bolt. Weatherby,s have FREEBORE throats in the barrel. DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME.

@@hawkeye4497 ya I didn't have any luck with heavier bullets. I was really crossing my fingers with those federal 160 gr trophy bonded tips. I bet they would perform well on big bodied game like elk and moose. Oh well the 150gr ttsx can win the war.

@@jesshadlock2139 Weatherby purposefully wants to use a slower twist. They will never go faster in this caliber. They claim the slower twist helps stabilize the bullet after such a long free bore. A faster twist would worsen bullet stability in the grains and loads they recommend. 7mm rem mag uses a faster twist but it's free bore is much smaller.

It's your shooting technique....NEVER hold the scope when you bench a rifle...let the forend rest on the sand bags....damn rookies

FALSE. The shooting technique is perfect. Ask the real gunsmith mister Randy Selby. I've been shooting this way for many years and load progressions. It's very steady try it. My hand rests there and prevents the rifle from a tilt. I do it consistently. Check this out on The real gunsmith channel it's covered in great detail. Dam rookies is right.

@@jasonbubley9427 I'm in south GA and I have found it magpro is easier than mag I shot both of them in my 7mm rem mag with 145 lrx and ttx bullets I get 3350fps and 1moa 5 shot groups out of the stock winchester model 70
