The citizens were lucky enough to leave and grab what they could before leaving their livelihood behind. I'm so thankful to see very few deaths during the storm. 1919 Storm on Padre Island killed 1,000 people. God bless Texas , especially Houston which is underwater.

The same reason I didn't get my windows covered. In 24 hours this storm went from maybe a hurricane to a cat4.There just wasn't time to get down there. The traffic was so bad you couldn't get in or out. We all thought it was just going to be some high winds and flooding, not what it ended up being.
