In the past year of dedicated KZfaq creation, I've learned a boatload. I'm not the best at synthesizing what I've learned so I tried to whittle it down (with a lot of editing) to 8 simple tips I followed to find KZfaq success
1:01 - Just Start Creating
2:05 - It takes time... lots of time...
3:13 - An audience is not guaranteed
4:21 - Don't let views/subs be the only focus
5:14 - Consistency builds coalition
6:19 - Build out a content engine
6:48 - Comparison is the thief of joy
7:43 - Grow your support system

Creativity is golf. When you hit the links on a Saturday, you’re not competing with Rory McIlroy. You’re trying to improve upon what you did last time, try new things and learn what works for you to set yourself up for better scores in the future. Ben I’m really into golf right now help me

Wow. I really love that metaphor actually. You may be in trouble with your obsession with golf, but at least I am able to benefit from your obsession!

some really great advice from this, that not only is helpful to anyone putting out content on here, but for any Content Creator in general! cheers to the next year for you, bud!

Happy to share with you, BKopps! Always happy to share advice like this with ya. And I should emphasize the "sharing" part because I'm positive there's ideas you have about creating. I think we could mutually benefit from that for sure.

This is way wider than being just for KZfaq creators.

This is a super motivating video dude. I've been wanting to be a KZfaqr to close to a decade as well (around 8 1/2 years) and I've always been on and off, giving up and getting this surge of motivation to create again. I think I've gotten to the point where I know what I need to do. I just need to keep at it for a while and understand that I might not see much success for many years. I'm lacking on the consistency part. My videos take such a long time to do that it becomes super difficult to be successful. Some might take 2 weeks, some might take 1 month. What do you think about that? Anyway thank you for making this video man much love

Always love seeing you comment on my vids Ryan. I also love it when you've got a new vid coming out. The effort you speak of comes out each time (doesn't matter if it's been 2 weeks or a month). I don't think consistency is non-negotiable when it comes to KZfaq. To me it's about what works for you from an audience growth perspective but also (and moreso) what works for you from a wellness perspective. The videos I make vary in time to finish as well, and ultimately I want to create stuff that scratches the itch of exploring different ideas. The content engine I'm working on is really more about getting me into the mindset to create instead of being able to create content faster. I have ambitious goals long-term of course, but having some shorter term goals that are baked into those long-term goals will absolutely help move me towards them. It's disheartening to know how long this is going to take but I think that's what makes having a support system so essential. Gotta move through this stuff together :)

I loved how you presumed your youtube lessons through this video❤ I think that we learn so much through just making the first couple of videos! I have never realized this until I started one which wasn't so hard to me (the start) coz simply if i wanna do smthg i just do it❤Thank you for yout ups btw, you are way realistic❤

All of these are VERY good tips. Thanks for taking a step back and objectively looking at what is working for you and it might help someone else. Wish I wasn't busy yesterday and could have seen this yesterday. As always this was another GREAT video, even though it was a talking head video. I know they aren't always the most interesting.

This is a good self reflection video! I've been putting out videos consistently for a year now too. I'm planning to do a similar video. I've been thinking about what success means. It's easy to look at someone with a million subs and think that you're not successful. If you set little goals for yourself and achieve them, you're successful in my opinion. What do you think?
@SlackerStuff

I agree (also kudos on also being 1 year in, that's great). It's tricky to determine what success actually means to me. If I'm talking about consistently posting a video every week, then hell yeah I've been pretty darn successful for a couple months now. My goal isn't necessarily 1 million subs, but it's absolutely to be able to support myself off of KZfaq videos alone. In that sense, I am not yet successful. All about that forward momentum, however, it's a daunting large goal I have for myself but I know it's gonna take chipping away at it to really get there. Cheers man, thanks for commenting.
