I think its better to aim to one-shot the tank even if you don't have explosive filler Learn the weak spots and ammo locations for the tanks you are facing, shoot the turret when you don't know the tank well or the gun is an immediate threat to you.

@@fergoose87 also true. Maybe I should make a video about when to shoot the barrel and when to go straight for the kill.

@@fergoose87 shooting the ammo on an abrams for example is too risky. It's far better to aim for the middle of the turret

@@WatchMysh Yes. I very good tip for people struggling with killing certain tanks, preview the tank you're having problems with like the kv-85 for example, and go into the protection analysis and find its weak spots. I've used that tip so much because as you progress through the game, you go against better tanks and sometimes, its hard to get solid shots and when you see them in battle again, you'll be able to take them down a lot easier. I used to struggle with things like the russians when i started years ago so i just used protection analysis, found their weak spots, and then i started destroying russians because i learned all of their weak spots. Also, weakspots usually transfer to most of that nations same type of tank so just keep it in mind.

@@WatchMysh Also, anytime you see a machine gun port, shoot it. People complain about the jumbo being under tiered but you can very easily 1 shot it by shooting its machine gun port on the hull. I even killed one from the front with an R3 just by shooting the machine gun

@@CrimsonAngell The protection analysis is far less useful than it used to be because it uses a different damage model from the one in the actual matches. Matches have volumetric shells, the PA doesn't. It's an authentic Gaijin moment.

@@erice.9514Sadly lots of people don't realise that kills alone aren't worth that much. If you do good recon and reduce plane spawn cost you likely net more rp/sp in the end.

Guess everyone feels like this at the beginning. Check the ammo you use. If you have explosive filler one shot usually is enough. If you use solid shot you need to know exactly where to shoot to hit the ammo for example.

@@trihorus that's a high pen solid shot if I remember correctly. Which is good but rather situational. Check if you have something with explosive filler but not purely HE (High Explosive). Something like "APHE" (Armor Piercing High Explosive).

@@WatchMysh Thanks a lot. I mostly have SPGs in my tank lineup now since I saw better success with them. For my Pz. III F, I use PzGr 40 which is APCR. For my 15cm sIG 33 B Sfl I use I.Gr.39 which is HEAT.

If you watch the replay later you will find out that most people are as "dumb" as yourself. 😀 It's hilarious what you expected them to do or which path you expected them to take. In reality it often just was a random mess. Lol. Keep going and hf! You'll get better over time. I'd say the most important thing is awareness and patience. Stay back a bit, just try to stay alive and get in a shot or two sometimes.
