Totally great tips!!! As editors I think we often get caught up in, "just getting the job done as fast as possible" and we end up with bad habits as a result. This video helps get rid of those bad habits and still be fast at editing, maybe faster. The vertical monitor idea is pure genius! Keep it coming dude.

I went to frickin school for this and I don't know why no one pointed out that I could edit the master clip instead of the timeline clip! What a time saver! Thanks for sharing your tips! I also loved the F trick and the enable/disable trick!

Love your channel. You often advocate the master color approach to color correction/grading. But what about clips that have a big difference in contrast (e.g., sunrise, sunset, etc)? One grade does not fit all in those circumstances. Plus isn't the master color approach destructive editing? Why not use adjustment layers to color correct/grade which allows non-destructive editing over more than one clip?
