Oscar is a real treasure to the game. He's a true gentleman and even when he's down he shows real sportsmanship. It's awesome to see him shooting so confidently against someone of Shane's caliber. He has to be one of the hardest working players in the sport, with the new baby and new pool hall purchase and all. Hat's off to him.
@marshalcraft
@marshalcraft 5 жыл бұрын
I don't know, throwing chalk onto table when shane, come's off one ball to any random spot not blocked for the 8, inches off pocket (and just barely pocketing 11 ball hitting side wall of pocket) seem's like a "you only won cause you got lucky" type thing which is hardly … great sportsmanship. That said, dry breaks got him, but he certainly brought a challenge to SVB. But yeah again, I detected a bit of rushing the table and "oh hey you want me to move the triangle for you" when it's SVB's turn at the table, all bullshit head games stuff Oscar is trying to use to gain advantage. Fortunately SVB has seen them all, and is amazing underpressure. He only loses when his opponent is truly playing better then he is and even then I don't think I've seen a better player in our current times (ie. Efren and others) maybe the boy in philipines Antwan Ragga.
@marshalcraft
@marshalcraft 5 жыл бұрын
And in my opinion it's okay I expect Oscar to be pissed, he played great all tournament, but that's the way things go, any pool player should know that, the sport can be so cruel. But to go out and start talking about "sportsmanship" when we all know players are dirty as fuck trying to play mind games instead of letting opponent player their best. Just stupid do you want to play pool or psychology?

@@marshalcraft I feel you with Oscar not moving the rack for him, even though he had dry breaks where he cleaned up the rack for Shane previously, but don't move the magic rack for shane at hill-hill! fuckin' Thelma wouldn't have even done that for Louise. The chalk was probably thrown with a smile and no contempt for a poorly hit key ball. Oscar doesn't seem like a poor sport, he seems high minded, but I don't know him.

This is a top notch match. I've been watching a lot of CueSports videos and at first the commentating seemed lackluster but I've actually grown to really respect the commentators and their input. They can't see every angle and what is blocked or free, the pro's can change patterns on a whim making their comment null and void. But they deliver an excellent perspective. All around, top notch video, commentating and pool playing. It doesn't get better!

Bryan Dominik: If you were new to pool and listened to everything they said with a naive perspective it would damage you forever as a player. New players need sound applicable advice, not a barrage of anecdotal ramblings by commentators who don't know when to be quiet. You can learn more by watching pattern play in action. It speaks for itself.

Okay the commentators.. plss just my opinion and feedback. You dont have to keep talking all the time. It's best to have quality over quantity. Sometimes its okay but not all the time. 29.06- talking about where he put his cue point. 40 seconds of rambling. The commentary for that moment would not have added any value. If you watch that whole rack without any commentary you will realise how good that clearance was. Oscar was really good.. especially the last 4 balls potted

With the rules they are using, it is still an open table after the break regardless of what balls are made. Therefore it is legal to hit the striped ball first to pocket the 4 ball. He is then solids and must hit a solid first from that point on

ON THE TOPIC OF SHOULD SLOP BE ALLOWED ? Well lets see what do you gain and what do you lose. The advocates say it adds excitement to the game.. such a statement reminds me of when ignorant people clap when they see a ball slop in, granted theirs shots that werent actually slopped in and to the unknowing eye appeared to be, but the skilled player and the knowledgeable watcher USUALLY can tell the differance, as far as the added excitement, personally i never get excited over shit in balls..at least not since i had 1 month experiance in game...say when i was 13 yrs old. NOW imagine the players are hill hill for state championship... one player shits in 3 ball then proceeds to run out the easy remaining rack..whereas without the shit the opponent would have run the easy rack..what we gained in some eyes ( the ignorant few) was a bit of excitement. What the opponent lost was his bid for title, that he may have practiced for twice as hard as the lucky ass. What the spectators lost was the answer to the question who is the states champion, simply put absolutely no one knows..they can guess at best...I say the dubious excitement to the knowing is to high a price to pay....Now thats just one shit shot that could have caused this travesty of justice..in reality ive seen numerous shit shots in a few minutes, like we all have, and thats just for state title...how much more terrible for world title, And for the idiot that says its an even chance for both players to slop balls in, i say such an ignorant person is not from this planet, because everyone knows some people are luckier than others on any given day, For the retard that says well it wouldnt be 9 ball without slop, many many games and sports progress thru rule changes to better the event. I say, dont change the rule on any game unless it could change the outcome in an unfair way..say costing player or team the most important thing they have trained for for years and years...Or lets forget players/teams of countries and there hard work and let the few ignorant get some false excitement. Now we all realize ever since we were in 1st grade theres going to be some crybabies who will lay on the floor, kicking their feet, wailing etc. If the more skilled, trained or superior individual has the advantage every time. so the unskilled crybaby will lobby the teacher or parent or principle to allow in a measure of luck. then the namby pamby person of position will say..yeh lets make it more even..as if thats more important than finding the most deserving, i love pool but this one point im so tired of debating for the last twenty years..im ready to stop watching pool and instead just watch two unskilled morons flip a coin over and over to see who,s the best at flipping....how exciting
